I Basically Took a Mugshot

Yesterday, and I know it’s an odd thing to choose to do on your birthday, I went to the tag agency to renew my driver’s license. It was about a thirty minute wait before they got around to taking my picture and getting the new license finalized (no way I’m going to the awful DMV).
Four years ago, I took the first good driver’s license photo since the first time I got a license. It was a really great picture, and that’s coming from a woman pretty hard on herself. Oh, but this time! It looks like it was a mugshot. I know what went wrong (she took the picture without telling me she was going to, and I was staring into space), although it’s just a license picture so who cares. I found it so funny I couldn’t resist showing my dad and stepmom. Both laughed hysterically. I look dead eyed and ready to commit a crime. It was the worst picture I have ever taken in my life.

No, I mostly remember other people's funny DL pics. They are the worst aren't they? Friend used to have a really funny DL pic with his hair askew and biting his lip. He looked like a warlock...

@AmbiePam It was a super funny picture. My ex had one with really pronounced 5 O'clock shadow. All anybody would be thinking when they saw the pic would be..That guy needs to shave ..

@snowy22315 One day my mom looked at my dad’s license, and asked him why it said his eyes were green. Confused, he looked into the car mirror, and for the first time in his life, he realized his eyes were blue.

I had to get my picture taken for my passport in 2009.
The look on my face really says it all.
It was shortly after my Dad passed away, and I was gloom and sad looking, nothing even close to how I felt inside, but given the fact that they tell you not to smile, alot of what I was feeling showed.
And of course I had choosen a terrible colour to wear on that day to top it all off.

Firstly, happy belated birthday! ?? I hope despite the unusual choice of spending part of it at the tag agency, you still managed to enjoy your special day. I must say, your story about the driver's license photo gave me a good chuckle – it sounds like a memorable experience! It's funny how these ID photos can turn out, isn't it? I can totally relate. In Italy, where I spent some time, they also have a knack for capturing the most unexpected expressions in passport photos. It's almost an art form! I am joking! However, even though the photo might not be your favorite, at least it provided a good laugh for you, your dad, and stepmom. Sometimes those unexpected moments become the most amusing memories. Here's to hoping the next four years bring you a license photo that truly captures your fabulous self!

Yep, the worst picture is on my Florida ID and I look like something out of the Addams Family, But I don't care at least after six years and the pandemic I have my ID finally.

Not sure what a tag agency, but that's good you didn't have to go to the DMV, though I never understood why people hate it so much. I never really had a problem lol. I renew mine online, so my driver's license picture is from probably 8-10 years ago lol.
Well that is good that you could laugh about it....I don't recall any bad ones that I got a kick out of lol

The tag agency is where you can get your passport, license, or Real ID, along with licenses for fishing, hunting, and such. You also get your license plates registered, get pike passes, and when you sell a car to someone else, you go to the tag agency so the title can change hands. They have a couple notaries, and they are also attached to a section where you can send packages. The DMV was always filled with 16 year olds ready to get their first license when I’ve been there. The tag agency is usually just faster.
Here, I can’t get my license renewed online. I wish I could though, that’s cool!

@AmbiePam Oh that is interesting to have a place where you can do all of that. We have a place where you can do most of those, but definitely can't get a license there. I guess where I am from the DMV was just never that busy - but I am from a very small town.
That stinks that you can't get it renewed online there! I have done it the last 2 times and will again this year probably

I'm rarely happy with any pictures of myself but when it comes to drivers license mine looks like a mugshot too.

Yes, it was in junior high I think. My hair was really short and I looked like a real dweeb. Have a good weekend.

they do that to get a GOOD mugshot of every 1
(face wise) I don't take good photos no matter
when there taken I just don't have the face for it.
