Do you have a dishwasher?

A while ago I asked if you have a washing machine. My mom bought a washing machine instead of an A/C. This summer she wants to buy a dishwasher or air conditioner. What would you choose between a dishwasher or an air conditioner? Is a dishwasher more important than an air conditioner? I think that both are useful. I want to help her to buy something useful. And I am not sure which one is more important.

For me it would be the dishwasher. I don't like the A/C.

In Green Bay you can live without one. I rarely ran ours when we lived in Milwaukee, but ever since moving to southern Illinois...you can't possibly live without it.

@porwest I'm sure I would use it more if I lived where it was hotter.

@just4him I HATE using it. But here you have to. It gets into the upper 90s with humidity through the roof and our temps are often listed as "feel like over 100." You just can't go without it.

Here there are 40 degrees Celsius during summer. I think we should choose AC. Last summer I had panic attacks because of that extreme heat.

@dya80dya Yes the heat can cause a lot of health issues I understand.

I would go for the air conditioner. Being too hot can make a person sick, and I hate being hot. I have both, but if I could only have one, I would get an AC. Some people live in a place where it doesn’t get too hot; if they did, they would feel differently.

@dya80dya Then definitely go for an air conditioner. It’s a better return on an investment.

We couldn't live without AC here. I don't know what your summers are like.

Here there are 40 degrees Celsius during summer. I felt so sick last summer. I felt like dying. The fridge stopped working because of extreme heat.

It depends on how it gets where you live. Where I live the AC would have gone first but the dishwasher would have been cheaper. I know for where I live the AC to be replaced is up to 2K but a dishwasher is under 1K I could get one and have it installed for around $200 or more. Over I have gone summers without a functioning AC it sucked but I could live without to wash dishes and also make them more steral because of my youngest food allergies.

@dya80dya That is 104 degrees in Ferhenhight here. Which is how hot if not more in the some parts of the US. Again it comes down to money. A dishwasher is still significantly cheaper than an AC united will be. Some ACs are propped into windows which can be a couple of hundred dollars but you have to do the work yourself. I grew up with no ac so we do box fans in windows you learn to live without when push comes to shove or well you just don't have the funds.

If I did not have an air conditioner, I would pick that before a dishwasher. But we have all three, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and central air conditioning.

Maybe we will have all three in the future, but we can't afford them all at once. They are all useful.

@dya80dya Here, in the U.S., these things are almost just a way of life. Mostly. Not always. But mostly.

@dya80dya - If you do not stay in the room when the A/C is on I cannot see the utility to install an A/C. As soon as you turn it off the room is as hot as before in no time.

My mom said we must leave the room when a/c is on. This is because it causes headaches and other problems.

I have always washed dishes by hand. Never been interested in a dishwasher. But an a/c we need with the heat and humidity.

I agree with you. When there are 40 degrees Celsius where can we go without an a/c?

I would buy the dishwasher, I'm a naturally cold person and can't get warm no matter what (dr's have explained why) so a little bit of heat wont bother me, and I don't likes dishes
