Sort of like musical chairs, but no plant was left without a pot... I spent several hours yesterday afternoon repotting some of these plants you see here. I took the Norfolk pine out of its pot, and yeah, it was root-bound. So I set it aside until I unpotted something else in a bigger pot. That something else (a small pine tree that sat on my front steps) would be rehomed in a bigger pot, too. The soil it was rooted in was frozen solid, so it took a while to get it out of its pot, which had a bit of a curve in its side. I considered putting it in the white pot but decided to use that for the pothos. The Norfolk pine went in the outdoor pine pot, which wasn't all that much deeper but definitely wider than its previous pot. It looks happier now. Then I unwound the pothos and put it in the much bigger white pot with a chunk of mulberry branch I saved from last year's pruning. I rewound the pothos around the branch and filled in the pot until everything was firmly situated. It looks happier, too. But then I had to find something for the outdoor pine. I had a few choices but not enough potting soil left to fill those pots, so I just crammed it into a temporary pot and set it aside in the unheated entry (or vestibule, as my mother would call it). My back was killing me by that time, so I had a cup of tea, a chocolate chip cookie, a generic robax pill, and flopped on the couch for the rest of the day.

All your plants look very happy in their new pots. It does sound like a lot of work playing musical plants.

You have a nice plant collection : ) I need to do something similar with some of mine, but of course then they'll take up even more space!

Planting out seedlings always kills my back. Half a punnet isn't too bad but those last few really make my back start aching.
