The quiz night has been and gone

We went to a musical quiz night last night at the clubhouse and how I wished we could have had @FourWalls on our table. The winning table had 93 questions correct out of 100 so they did really well. Luckily, we had one knowledgeable person on our table or we would have done a lot worse than our 68 points which gave us 6th place out of 12. A friend stayed with us to attend another quiz night with her friends over at the Recreation Centre. She was not complimentary about the night saying the acoustics were bad making it difficult to hear and some of the questions were ambiguous. She slept in the new hospital bed which we bought ready for when Vince comes home from hospital. She always insists on bringing her own sheets and pillows but she likes satin coverings. She slept with the bed head up a little but by morning she had slipped down until her feet were against the footboard. When Vince is sleeping in it, he will raise the feet a little too which will stop any tendency for him to slip towards the base. The photo shows the prizes. Each person received a bottle of wine, chocolates and a voucher for a hardware store.

You received nice prizes and you also had fun. Lucky those who have a knowledgeable person at their table.

We were lucky to have that one man who knew so much. We would have done much worse without him.

Congratulations on 6th place. I think the hospital bed would be just the thing for hubby and me. We could set it up like we sleep in the recliners. How is Vince doing???

We have another six weeks to wait before the op. He's okay but gets tired very quickly.

Sounds like a good night. Around here you pick your team. I have gone with friend before..He never knows anything . I should see if I could get people from the writing group to go. Most of them are old, but pretty smart .

We had six we knew but the other couple were more or less random - but we were very pleased to have them on our team.

@JudyEv I agree. In my old neighborhood, we usually have this kind of game. Unlike here, most of the people are timid and it seems like they are scared of people.

@Shavkat Is there a lot of crime in your neighbourhood which would make people frightened to interact too much with others?

It was a very challenging and fun night that you had. If the questions were too easy, you would have been bored, as it is you have something to strive for.

What you say is very true. My friend was very disappointed in her quiz as the questions were very difficult. The winners on got 47 questions right out of 70 which isn't much fun for anyone. She said the acoustics were bad too and it was difficult to hear the questions.

I was going to say that satin sheets are a bit slippery! haven't been to a quiz night in years, I was hopeless at the sports ones, but good at general knowledge
