What Happened to YouTube Videos?

I think kids are making YouTube videos with AI. I do not like some of the reels. I have seen videos of child abuse, violence, crimes, inappropriate behavior, and videos I don't even understand of strange characters and loud music.
I reported one video of child abuse. The baby was in distress hanging by his neck from a piece of furniture and trying to breathe while someone was taping it. From the comments, I saw that many other people also reported it.
What are you seeing on YouTube video reels? Am I the only one who sees questionable content?

So far I've been lucky, but my feed is usually full of tech content and things I frequently watch on youtube.

@akalinus Sometimes when you look at certian things, Youtube tries to figure what else you might like. And, since the news shows a lot of negative things in the world.... then there you go.

@akalinus that's NOT the way to do it, there's a lot
more better things to video than such trash as that.

@2ndchances24 Yes, but why are they doing it? There must be something in it for them.

@2ndchances24 Yes, but maybe they do it to get other kids to watch. They get a lot of clout that way.

Thankfully I've never encountered violent content but I report fake accounts (impersonating celebrities) from time to time, mostly on Instagram.
I've seen AI generated content, so cringey.
Despite AI generation has improved quite a lot, you can still tell something is off and some don't even "proofwatch" before posting, so some blatant errors appear in both speech and images.
But the AI content I'm talking about isn't inappropriate, just bad. And it's usually the elder population that "falls for it". That stuff gets milions of views, that's crazy.

@akalinus Right, I've heard of this stuff before. Some people are either perverted or cope very sickly with their traumas. I wouldn't be surprised some of these who hit kids were hit when they were kids and that's all they know. Unfortunately not everyone develops empathy.
And of course, these godforsaken individuals target children in very poor countries with no human rights. Yet it's weird how these videos don't just bypass censorship but become popular.

Some of the videos show adults chasing kids and hitting them with sticks or burning their hands. The kids are often hungry and begging for food. I don't know how someone can harm a hungry child. I would share my last crumbs with them.
I can usually tell AI writing. It is stilted and awkward, often repeats itself, uses too many adverbs/adjectives, and sometimes makes no sense. I don't know about the images as much.

@sabtraversa In most of these, a godlike figure pops up to save these kids and always gives them food. The adults back off.

I wouldn't watch anything like that on YouTube. I think you were right to report it.

I didn't see any because I forget to look at them. I watch ones related to how to design different books on canvas for kdp, but forget to look at much more.

I don't watch reels unless my mother finds something funny. I watch true crime, some music videos, and I do some exercise videos.

I usually look at comedies from Mexico, music videos from artist of the 1980s as well as female professional matches from Japan, Mexico and the independent scene plus religious videos. The only videos that are questionable are either police videos of shootings or of world events in the news.

I never saw things like that. I did watch a lot of true crime but the content producers sort of got into a war with each other and tried to sabotage their competition. There was a lot of name calling and such. I don't watch it much anymore.
I did like the Chinese Cliff Families. I marathoned watched that for a while. It is fascinating.
