Vacation Come Down

Do you guys ever have a vacation let down? You come back, and you’re kind of lackadaisical? I think something else is bugging me too, but I had such a good time maybe it will take a little bit to get back in the swing of things. This picture is of the gigantic rocking chair in front of the Branson Craft Mall. It’s quite a production just to get in it!

That does look like it might be a bit tricky to get into. Was it hard to rock?

I didn’t try to rock it because I felt too precarious to move. My friend tried to rock, and about dislodged herself!

I always looked forward to getting back from vacations. Then look over the photos and remember. However, since I went to Latvia we never took any vacations. There was no place to really go and if you went anywhere like another city it got expensive to stay in hotels, So we looked forward to holidays and celebrations and such to round out the year.

When George and I would go on our staycations, it usually took a day or two for us to get back to ourselves and back to the grind. I think a lot of it has to do with having to readjust to an old schedule, after being on a different routine.

We never go away for long enough for me to have to worry about adjusting again. I hope that your adjustment period is short and sweet.

I recall at work, we had a saying that for the most part, employees were usually not worth much the day before they went on their vacation, and the day they returned from it. Your mind is just too full, and your mind is also just not on work. It does take a period of adjustment.

It will take awhile to get back in the swing of things for sure.

I haven't been on a vacation in decades so I can't even begin to relate.

I always felt like you when back home from vacation. That must be the chair for BigFoot.

Oh yes, I usually do to some extent. Getting away from the daily routine is liberating to me whether it's sightseeing or visiting my brother or other relatives out of state. It's restful and a chance to do something different. I don't look forward to returning to the same old stuff and unpacking my clothes.

If only vacations were cheap enough to do more often.

That is a big chair, oh wow! That's good to hear you had a good time. Maybe just didn't want the good times to end? I don't really go on vacations so can't say myself.

Yes, most definitely! I always (or mostly) find it takes a little while just to recover from a vacation. It is nice to be back home too, always nice to be back to the comforts of home.

No, I took a picture of my friend in the chair, but I don’t like my picture being taken.

I'm hearing the same thing from my daughter in law who just came back from vacation and how hard it is to get back into the swing of things. I think vacation "let down' is a real thing.

I'm glad you had a grand get away. Now you will need to find ways to distract yourself. Its so hard when the party is over.

Maybe it is the feeling that the vacation is over, I think that is a common feeling.

I wish I could go somewhere. I visit other places in my dreams. I used to love travel.
