As Promised The Finished Hobo Reels

Canada
April 5, 2024 1:26pm CST
The hobo fishing reels are both turned and finished. I attached the line to the one my son chose for himself and left the other one bare just to show the contrast. The wood used is Swamp Alder out of the bush here. That's a lightweight hardwood and will float well if one of us accidentally drops one into the water. I will likely put out a video on my YouTube channel showing how I made them but that won't happen for at least a week. Now we wait for fishing season to begin.

@koopharper YouTube videos are usually good and helpful. I could repair our push mower thanks to a YouTube video.

No hurry. It'll give me the time and excuse to make something else.

They look good. You'll be all set for fishing season. It's satisfying to make practical items like this.

The most satisfying is to see something I've made in use. My wife's yarn bowl at this point is my favorite. She's always carrying it around with her.

@koopharper Vince made me a bookcase the first year we were married and about 8 years later he made another to match. They're both in our present lounge room and full of books. I'll never part with them.
