My Phone is Maddening

United States

It constantly turns the volume on all up and down as a will of it's own. Also it turns the display to dark mode on a will of it's own. No matter what, it does it. Does your phone do this or drive you mad?

Wonder why it does this? Have you tried to restart it?

I have done everything humanly possible Lena. It might be coz its old and will not be updating anymore, in fact has not updated for a couple years now. That's how they get you to buy new phones.

@RebeccasFarm do you have room on the phone to do an update? When I was using my iPhone 6S. I had no room on my phone to even do an update. It had only 16 GB on it and pretty much everything was used up. I had that phone since 2016 I believe. I finally caved in to get a new phone last Thanksgiving. Got a 14 instead of the 15. And only 128 GB of storage. The guy said if I had 16 GB before that 128 GB is more than enough. Let’s hope so. I am almost out of my 5 GB free storage on iCloud. I may have to get more storage. My mom pays 99 cents per month for it for her iCloud. Wonder how much storage that gives you. I wonder why the guy didn’t even offer us the 15 models.

@lovebuglena It seems I don't need a lot really..mine is a Motorola and they specifically wont do any more updates as far as I am understanding ..for instance mine is Android 11 instead of the current what is it Android 16 now or something.

My screen does dim on it's own. It bothers me some. But I can switch it back to brighter when I need to.

@RebeccasFarm if it wasn't so then no one would want to replace it with a new one.

@May2k8 Yes that is right..it is a con all the time to get you to buy thousand dollar phones. Not me.

Oh, that can be scary at times, baby phone turning into a rebel teen. I wonder what causes that. It sounds more like a hardware issue, like wires that start sending unwanted signals, than a software one. But what do I know, I'm not a phone doctor.

@RebeccasFarm If it's hardware the only way is surgery, which is out of question these days as it'd probably cost more to repair than buy a new phone. Does your phone wear a cover? Did you try cleaning the buttons? I'm outta ideas.

I am going to have to get a new phone soon as once things go to 5G here (whatever that is) I won't be able to dial the emergency number which is the main reason I have it.

Oh I see Judy, now look at that. I'm going to have to get a new phone eventually..but yeah that is important to be able to dial emergency.

@JudyEv Oh yes, it is vital indeed Judy..better to be prepared and not get caught out. Is the surgery soon I forgot when?

@RebeccasFarm I think it's important because of Vince's health. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that we'll need emergency help one day.

No, mine doesn't. But after the last upgrade mine has a weird orange or yellow tint to the screen. Can't change it in the settings either. Weird.
