Today, April 8, 2024, there was a total eclipse of the sun. Unfortunately, it was overcast all day. So there wasn't really anything to see. I popped my head outside just after 3 and caught a glimpse of the edge of the sun just before it became dark as night for maybe 2 minutes then it started lightening up again. It was an eclipse, but not an apocalypse as some feared. It wasn't even Alpaca lips.

Here in florida, It'd been clear all day. During the eclipse, it got cloudy and kinda dark. Didn't last long. Don't think the world's ending.

It did not last long and it did not cause the apocalypse.

@BarBaraPrz Exactly, I did not expect the world to end... not for an eclipse.

We had 80%, but we also had cloud cover. My mother made me a cereal box viewer and I got to see some of it when I got the hang of it.

@BarBaraPrz It's a cereal box with aluminum wrap on one end with a pin hole through it.

@BarBaraPrz It sounds like the weather permitted you from the experience. We had nothing telling us about it so it was another day yesterday in Jerusalem.

Hope that they took Alpaca's permission to put the image Alpaca lips.. that's a clever image. Apocalypse seems to be very fascinating. Seems like there is a group of people who keep waiting for the world to come to an end and keep predicting for it. We have already passed few of those predictions

@BarBaraPrz 95% I guess from what I saw people on Facebook say but it was so cloudy most everyone here couldn’t see anything anyway.

Here, we'd only get a partial anyway. It got a bit dimmer was all. We've gone through so many eclipses . . . so funny how some people think something drastic would happen.

I've never seen a solar eclipse. Not a total eclipse anyway. I've seen a lunar eclipse two or three times and that had a certain magical quality to it - and was easier to watch as well. The next total solar eclipse visible from the UK will be in 2090 so I don't suppose I'll be around for that!

I remember trying to catch a solar eclipse on film back in the 60s. It wasn't total but it did burn a hole in the film.

I remember one vlogger who goes by the name The Watchman suggesting that a major event would occur today. Thank goodness other losing internet connection for about five minutes and a brief shower, nothing happened.

That's a funny meme. I watched the eclipse on the Weather Channel. It got really dark here at around 3:15 pm, the time of totality.

I just watched the neighbors watching it. The young couple across the street even had their baby out with them on the porch. He/she/it won't remember it but will still be able to claim seeing it.

LMAO I've seen this one on FB. Some argued the distance between Earth and Moon is way shorter than the Sun's diameter, the Sun is definitely not as small as depicted. I mean, it'd be apocalypse in all three cases. Oh well... sucks you had clouds.
