Do You Always UnPlug Your Chargers When Not in Use?

I definitely do as this will preserve the life of them and also it is a safety precaution against fire, you never know, as those things can light up. So do you or do you leave them plugged in all the time? I also unplug all appliances except for stove and fridge when not in use, such as the toaster.

Unplug! Not just chargers but all other appliances when not in use except for the ref, aircon and wifi router that’s plugged all the time. Saves you some electricity and also as you’ve said, as a safety measure too.

@RebeccasFarm I usually would go on for many months, almost a year, without any discussion but these days I just feel like it hehe

I am sitting at my desk at home right now working on the computer, and right in front of me are three different chargers that are plugged into the wall outlet, none of them currently being used to charge anything. So I guess I'm guilty of leaving my chargers plugged in. And apparently my daughter and girlfriend are guilty as well.

@RebeccasFarm I can't reach the wall outlet from where I'm sitting in my chair. I would have to get up out of my seat in order to unplug them.

@RebeccasFarm .........Nope. They work fine. I change them each time I get a different phone. About every two or three years.

I leave everything plugged in. Most of our plugs are smart plugs, with auto-shut off in the event of a surge. We also have power strip/surge protectors everywhere. I use wireless charging when possible to charge my phone, and it's a common misconception that unplugging perserves the life of the device. Modorn phones have technology to protect the battery if you forget it.

@RebeccasFarm I have wanted them for years, I was worried they'd be to expencive, but the benifits outweigh the cost.

We don't unplug chargers but I'm sure we should. I try to switch off appliances if we go away.

Good enough Judy...at least a few unplugged. For some reason I am always afraid of chargers catching fire.

@RebeccasFarm And that is a fair enough worry. Some do from time to time.

I usually unplug everything except the refrigerator and water purifier. I turn off the CP of the induction cooker at night. The thing I forget to unplug the most is the phone charging cable! Is there anyone like me?
