Their garage roof got partially blown off

It is not surprise that it has been windy alot of places here included. I was talking to my mom yesterday who said during the "big winds" their garage roof got partially blown off. Apparently, the good news is that the insurance will cover all about 100 dollars. It would be better if it covered everything..but whatever, I guess they can live with it to have a more secure roof, and repairs made to the old one. It is windy here again today..it always starts in the afternoon. It was not windy this AM. How about where you are?

Our area had really high winds last week. One day was a big hail day, luckily spotty and I only saw tiny hail, but many people had damage. Hail and wind can really mess up a lot of things and cause a lot of damage!

Yes, it can. Were they the big hailstones?

@MarieCoyle I had a tornado here one time a number of years ago. After the main storm passed there were hailstones all over the ground. It looked like it had snowed.

@snowy22315 Several towns saw really big ones, luckily, it wasn't us! But on the news they showed broken car windows, damaged roofs, etc. Hail is a meanie!

I'm sorry the wind blew off part of your mom's garage roof. I'm glad the insurance will cover most of it. No winds here yesterday. We had high winds a couple of days ago.

I am glad that the insurance covers. Our insurance covers if the winds are over 40 mph, less a roof should not get damaged. Tomorrow the wind is back.

Not windy here at the moment, but it could get that way if a storm blows in.

It is sunny, cool, and calm here. Did you mean all but $100? Is that the "deductible"? Doesn't sound too bad.

My area of southwest Louisiana went through a tornado striking near the McNeese State University which is located southwest from my residence early on Wednesday morning which did remove a roof of the local hospital in the city and interrupted internet. phone and cable service through early Friday morning. No serious damage in my neighborhood.

I'm in the mitten of Michigan, yes, the winds were powerful yesterday but not today. I sat a plastic dish of food out for the feral cats and the dish blew away! I'm sure the cats will eat that food off the ground, anyway.

It was windier yesterday, although today is fairly windy. I took the trash out this morning and walked the dog, and Sadie’s “dog bag” I carry when I walk her flew out of my hand (it hadn’t been used yet). I managed to chase it down (no littering here ). But it was one of those you reach for it, the wind blows it away, you catch up, the wind blows it away…

I had that happen yesterday with a receipt. I was chasing it around for awhile. It blew out of a bag.

We don't get a lot of wind really and there is rarely any damage done. Losing a roof, or part thereof, would be a bit inconvenient. Off the subject a little but now, in some of our flood-prone areas, the can't get insurance at all or else it is much more than they can afford.
