There Really is Nothing Like Sleep

There is nothing like sleep to keep a person healthy. It heals the body in so many ways. I know this well now. Now I know why the elders would always say get your sleep. I am well and truly suffering from extreme exhaustion. I have not slept well at all in the last couple years due to a demon of a neighbor upstairs. I have done what I could to resolve it..no good. Anyway, there is nothing like sleep, do you agree?

When I didn't sleep well the other night I actually felt sick the next day. I can't even imagine what it must be like for you to not get sufficient sleep for such a long period of time.

Perhaps, you could get some good earmuffs, so that you do not hear them, but with neighbours like that that might be risky to do too, as at least the noise, is a warning to you, at times, as to what they might do next. Health issues can also cause lack of sleep problems, and can cause mental problems to develop in one too. In your situation, I would not like it either, but taking an afternoon snooze might help as someone else here said too. I like getting a good sleep, and a disturbed sleep always leaves me feeling deenergised, and tired, during the day.

Oh yes, sleep regenerates the body. Chronic sleep deprivation, even if the effects aren't immediately apparent, can lead to a host of health issues over time. It's like a silent accumulation of effects that eventually manifest into noticeable ailments.

@RebeccasFarm Especially if you're no longer young you could feel the impact of lack of sleep in your body. I feel that too.

Everything about sleeping is interesting. How much you need. What happens while you sleep. How good it is for your body. Yes, so much.

Sleep is important. I have always slept about 4 hours a night and will take a nap sometimes if I need one. For some reason after about 4 hours, I have a hard time falling back to sleep. This morning, I could have slept in, and was wanting to, but like clockwork I woke up after 4 hours and couldn't go back to sleep. I'm sorry you have bad neighbors

Yes, having good sleep is important. I sleep about 7 hours a day. I'm sorry you could sleep well due to the nuisance of neighbors. Try to take an afternoon nap every day.

Sleep? What is that ? I have not slept through the night in over a decade . . . I function "ok" but have no idea what being truly refreshed is. I wish for good decent sleep for both you and me .

It seems that my body knows when it needs and doesn't need sleep. Usually the most I need is between 6 -7 hours and at times it can be only 5 hours,

I have maintained a healthy diet of sleep of at least 7 hours a day. After retirement, I take a nap too in the afternoon. I want to give my body the needed rest, especially my eyes.
