I'm off to a fashion parade

I live in a retirement village and the membership of the social committee has recently changed. There has been a lot more events happening and today there will be a fashion parade at the clubhouse. It’s not really my scene but I like to support whatever’s happening so I’ll tag along. The models are residents and we’ve been assured the garments will be suitable for our age group and for the more ‘mature figure’. Vince is coming too to take photographs. He seems to have become the designated village photographer which is nice. We have a chemist shop now next to our new supermarket and the chemist will be introducing himself. He has also been very generous in gifting some items for a raffle. We’ll be met with a glass of champagne to get us into party mode. The photo is of our two sons.

@JudyEv You are so right. When we decided to settle here it was also considering the quality of the hospitals and how far they are from our home. I do not drive, but the Bus gets me there in 10 minutes and the bus stops at 1 minute walk from home.

@LadyDuck The bus here is about a minute too which can take me to the train station then it's a 20 minute commute to the city. And it's all free in off-peak hours.

I feel more settled now really. With Vin's health being as it is, this is where we need to be. It's very close to our major hospitals.

The newly open chemist donated a lot of stuff for the raffles and now wants Vince to take photos at his official opening on Saturday. It's good for Vince to do stuff like this.

They do get quite good crowds at most of the functions. The clubroom would be battling to hold everyone so it's okay that some don't come.
