My balcony.

I forgot to take a "before" picture of my balcony. I did use it getting painted as an opportunity to throw out some stuff out there that I did not need. And to start my yearly "restoration" work on my outside table and chairs. I sand them down each year with 150 grit sandpaper and then use linseed oil as a finish. My succulents are back in place, and I bought some new planters for this Summer's corn, green beans, and sunflowers. I still have to get some fresh potting soil at Home Depot. Kitty wanted me to write that she approves of the new set-up. It's not that different from the old set up.

I like a lot an oil finishing instead than painting for wood.

I agree. I did paint some inside wood at my cabin in Montana. But it was mostly pine.

@TheHorse I use a paint for the wood fence. I sand, apply a wood preservative and then I apply an oil based paint. It takes longer to dry, but it also lasts longer. I do not paint every year.

It looks like such a pleasant place to sit and reflect, and a great place for Kitty. Do you have a sun umbrella? I like those, but right now I don't have one. We have so much wind here, it's a constant hassle to get it in and out so it doesn't blow to the next county! You are ready for summer and planting!

@TheHorse Does Kitty help with bug patrol, so that the plants don't get chewed on?

Looks like a good book to relax. Seems to be a day of hard work. Agree that a before pic would have completed the 'picture'

Just picture a bunch of redwood branches on the floor and a very grey set of table and chairs.

@pitstop It does look neater than it did before. I'll probably finish sanding and oiling the table and chairs tomorrow morning.

@TheHorse I need to plan the next trip to McComb with the hubby. We need to get a couple big cases of bottled water also. I can't pick that stuff up. I can but it isn't easy and certainly not fun!

I enjoy it. I will do a bit of sanding and oiling now. I went grocery shopping and then was attacked by laziness. No Home Depot right now.

The arrangement looks good. The approval from Kitty is so vital as without an "Official" sanction, it doesn't matter much !!! A "Before" picture would of course have been good. Is the mercury rising a lot at your place or still is it pleasant to sit outside.

I'm glad Kitty approves. You might have been in trouble if she hadn't. By the way, the sander belt had Metalite R228 printed on the inside which apparently is coarse grit.
