Sunny Sunday

Yesterday was cloudy and a bit chilly all day. Today it looks as if the sun will put in an appearance. No news at all, except that weekends are just too short. After church we will come home. I already have two different meals prepared and we do not need anything from the store. Eating out has gotten incredibly expensive, even for a burger, so we eat at home instead. I am glad to have food ready to take in my lunches. My yard looks like a meadow with wildflowers and all. But also broken trees from a harsh winter. I look forward to being outside more today. All my laundry got done yesterday. Next week is a somewhat shortened week. Marion schools are out next Friday. Hillsboro has school and I will ride the bus with kiddos one direction. This is the beginning of field trips and field days and ag days and so on and so forth, so not a lot of classroom time. Our last day is May 17, then I will have two weeks off before summer school.

Might get some sun today, but it's only 5°C and back to winter coats. Sigh.

My church home is only a half hour from here, south of here, but they had snow yesterday--yikes.

@GardenGerty Luckily, the sun came out and it got up to 9°C/49°F, and no precipitation of any type.

What on earth are you going to do for those two weeks? I hope sleep late, if that’s possible.

I have always been an early riser, so sleeping late might be 6:30 a.m. However, I do believe I will get some napping in.

We have a terrible habit of wanting to eat out once a week or so. Bad kids we are but we love it. If I had a home I would like the yard to be full of wildflowers too.

I would do more eating out, but sometimes it is just disappointing. I have some tame flowers opening up, too.

First of May is our "Labor Day" in Europe, surely kids get a long weekend as May 1st is a Wednesday.

So likely Wednesday through Sunday off. In the US we just turn everything into Monday holidays.

@GardenGerty I think it would be better should Europeans do the same, all holidays on Monday, just a longer weekend.

My friend’s grandkids, etc. are down to visit during their school vacation. You certainly get out early! Enjoy.

@GardenGerty Wow! It’s so hot then. Hope it’s cooler in Kansa than in the Northeast.

This is incredibly early. We even took off for snow days, but they were built in to our days in school.

It was beautiful today…deceptively so. Temps barely got out of the 40s, and that’s after we were running around in shorts three days ago. Ah, the Ohio Valley. Hope you hibernate on those two weeks before summer school!

It's overcast here today but you couldn't really call it cold. It's 21C which is nice for us.

Before you know it, school will be out. It sounds like you will be involved in summer school though. Enjoy your new week.
