What I *Didn't* Get Done Saturday

While I made a good size dent in things that needed doing yesterday, one of the things I really wanted to do didn't get done. That was potting some more Elderberry cuttings to root. I have about 9 or 10 in pots already, but wanted to do more this year. This afternoon since it was not raining I went outside and potted another 8 or nine of them. I think this batch will also root well. Next potting will be more wisteria. I did not have as good of luck with my first round of those that I potted a couple of weeks ago. My best friend is obsessed with everything Elderberry. On vacation, I found a country store out in the sticks, and bought her Elderberry syrup and Elderberry lemonade. And, you know, when it’s from a genuine country store, it IS good.

That’s hard work. You must be so relieved you were able to pot them today. I can’t wait to get home to Connecticut to get started on gardening, etc……

The elderberry are going good this year, it is the wisteria that is being stubborn. I'll do another round of them this week!

The elderberry all did fine. It is the wisteria that bombed! I will be doing another round of it in the next few days.

I wondered what the flowers were, thanks for saying. What will you do with all those poured plants? Plant them around your yard or sell them?

I will keep some. I have been planting them out in the field. We have one up close to the house that my hubby will be cutting down soon because roots are going to interfere with the line to the septic tank. I have also sold them on Ebay before. That is another option.

I love wisteria, it is in full bloom here right now. Elderberry grows in the wild, I always cut the flowers to make fritters and also to prepare the syrup.

Some things grown quite easily from cuttings while others are a bit harder to get going.
