My husband's cousin will deliver the check today for the 30-day prepayment. I will find out this week how much the charges will be for physical therapy.
Spoke with my husband last night. Nothing much to report. There's no PT on the weekends which I have a problem with. I am hoping that he gets strong enough to start stair therapy soon. He has been gone since February 1; and that's much too long! I won't be able to visit until this cold/bronchitis is totally gone.
Thank you for your continued support, prayers and thoughts.

I’d ask them for a refund for the days where he doesn’t get therapy. Just to give them some of the grief that they’ve given you.

@LindaOHio — I meant not billing you for the “rehab hospital” stay.

They haven't billed for the PT yet. That's an additional charge.

@LindaOHio Sorry but what? He earned every bit of help he can get from the VA. My brother was a proud man who suffered from the Viet Nam war and he got help from the VA.

@sallypup The application was very detailed and asked for a lot of financial information. My husband decided against filling it out.

That's really a bummer they don't do it on the weekends. People would do better quicker if they did it then too....I'd think.
Hope you can see him again soon - that is a long time

Yes, I feel that you take a step backwards on the weekends.

As frusterating as it is, you have to trust those caring for your husband. Daily physical therapy sounds good in theroy, but the brain needs a recovery period to heal and re-learn what it needs.

Sorry to hear that you have bronchitis which can be very stubborn and hang on for awhile.
We're all rooting for your husband to be able to come home so hopefully he'll be able to do the stairs soon.

Hopefully, things will get going soon. You may have to prod them with the PT..because the way they seem to be there..They won't proceed until check for it is in hand.

I have discovered by my own experience that we can learn the PT exercises. Then it is up to us to do some of it by ourselves. I confess though that I´m too lazy to do it every day.
