Do you take ibuprofen when you have a sore throat?

Today I woke up with a sore throat. The pain was so severe that I had to take ibuprofen. It made the pain less intense, but the pain is still there. I feel sick today even if no one in my house is sick. I wonder how this is possible. I have flu symptoms and no one has a cold. My brother came home recently, but he was healthy. At least he seemed healthy. What do you do when you have such intense pain?

@dya80dya the scientific name for Aleve is Naproxen. It is different from ibuprofen in that you only have to take 1 and it will last over 12 hours.

@dya80dya Just black or green tea with honey. You need the honey.

I wonder if it's an allergy, here my father was sick for a few days so I think I caught whatever he had. Mostly cough but some sore throat too. Mom gave me honey and lemon juice.
She also suggested to take some milk with honey, which I didn't mind at all.

I can’t take ibuprofen because I have asthma. If it’s too bad I will take Tylenol. Usually I use Altoids, gargling, or Cloriseptic for it.
