I am going over to that fantastic church yard sale place a bit later this morning. I am looking for a can opener. They probably won't have one, but it is worth a try. I hate that hand can opener, and the electric one is still messing up so it is going to need to be replaced. Even if I don't find a can opener, they should have some fantastic buys there. I always find something of interest there. Not that I really need more "stuff" but hey if it is good stuff, why not?

I see you found a hand can opener and I am happy for you!
I went through so many electric ones and none ever got the lids off my cans, so years ago my sister gave me a manual hand can opener, and I have used the same one all these years and always get my lid off!

No, I have a new electric can opener. I don't like hand can openers. Most of them are chintzy.

@snowy22315 I am glad you found an electric one.
My hand one isn't really quality but I like it because it is the only one that I can actually get the lids off my cans.
Honestly, I don't use it much except for cranberry sauce and canned green beans. my spaghetti o's and ravioli have lids those lids I can pull off without a can opener. I am not sure what those are called.

@LadyDuck Yes, I like this one better than my old one. It has a retractable cord..and a magnet to hold the can in place ..all for the whopping price of 3.00!

Yes, I had to ask one of the lady who works there because there was none on the shelf. She produced this from the back still in box..

Maybe they always have household goods and small appliances. Sometimes it is kind of offbeat stuff though.

I did..yes..there is another church run thrift shop not far from here. I am not as familiar with that one..as it isn't on my regular route anymore..but I have gotten a couple of good things there in the past..like my inflatable Santa for a 1.00 when buying it in the store would be at least 25.

You might be lucky to find a can opener. Let us know what kind of "good stuff' you come home with
