Super Supper

Good evening friends.
Another work week is behind me now. I am trying to take off a little bit more time and today I worked for half a day.
After work I baked some large chicken pieces low and slow in the oven.
My hubby has been bothered by an earache this week and the stuffiness that goes along with it. I always find that chicken is such a soothing meal. I made some dumplings to go along with the chicken. I also lightly steamed some broccoli and cauliflower, that went into a small dish and I mixed up some melted butter and mayo to drizzle on the top along with some croutons for crunch and put some shredded cheese over it all. My hubby loves that broccoli-cauliflower bake.
I was going for a super and soothing supper tonight. And I do hope that it helps him to feel a bit better. What is your go-to when you have to cook for someone not feeling the greatest?

It sounds delicious enjoy the chicken, I hope he does feel better, My achy ears always did better with some cotton soaked in camphor oil, If anyone was not feeling well it was always some comfort food or something they liked best,

Just the bland stuff like chicken soup and rice and so forth. Your meal sounds very good.

@snowy22315 I hope that everything is alright.
Ron sounds miserable this morning, he is researching the net to see what time the walk in clinic opens.

@changjiangzhibin89 The feel that his ear is blocked is an ear infection. I was able to flush it for him yesterday and will check it again today to see if that will help. he was given some very strong antibiotics.

@1creekgirl No, it isn't covid.
He has an ear infection in his left ear, while I have a throat infection, rattling in my lungs (again) and a red left ear. But we have both started on our course of antibiotics and hope to be feeling better soon.

Your dinner sounds delicious and hope it helps your hubby feel better.
My go-to is usually homemade chicken soup when someone isn't feeling well even though it's good when everyone feels fine.

It tasted good, although neither one of us have much of an appetite.
I went with him to the medical walk-in clinic today.
I have a sore throat.
He has an ear infection, I have a throat infection and my lungs are rattling-again.
The fluids all flow down and my lungs are just not strong enough anymore to fight things off.
I feel like my thyroid is not functioning properly, I have felt this way for about a month. My hair is getting thin and that could account for my lungs not being able to fight this off. I so wish that I had a family doctor, but I am just hopefully waiting for a call from the last family practice that I applied for to call me.

Yum. I can imagine how comforting that dish must have been. Low and slow is always nice. I hope the husband's relieved of earache now.
Our usual comfort soup here is called "chicken sopas" - it's just chicken noodle soup that either uses Asian noodles or pasta. We also make chicken arroz caldo, which is chicken rice porridge.

I hope he feels better soon. Earaches are awful. I had them for many years as a kid.
I'm not sure what my go to is these days.

I'm sorry your husband is not feeling well. I hope he feels better soon. When I used to be able to cook, I would just ask my hubby what he felt like eating. Have a good weekend.
