Have you been following the Trump criminal trial?

From what I understand, it's clear that Trump had intimate relations (I wouldn't call less than ten minutes of non-joyous sex--at least for Ms Daniels-- an affair) with a porn star named Stormy Daniels and had Michael Cohen pay off Ms Daniels not to bring her story forward. It's also clear that he had a 10-month affair with a Playboy bunny named Karen McDougal and had David Pecker, the first prosecution witness, buy and "kill" (not publish) the story. Pecker (his real name) headed the company that published gossip rag National Enquirer. What has to be shown to make Trump's crimes really damning is that his illegal suppression of information about his affairs was in service of "winning" the 2016 election, not merely in service of hiding his antics from his family. Pecker's testimony appears to support the idea that Trump was engaging in election interference and criminal conspiracy, and not just trying to hide his affairs from Melania. But we'll see how things go. How closely have you been following this trial? Here's a link to a decent summary by a legal expert.

Not really close. But enough to know he is guilty . He didn't care about his family knowing

@TheHorse I believe he was saying rigged even then. Of course that changed when he won. I can hear him if Ohio wakes up and don't vote for him this time. I would love that I don't think he cares what his wife thinks. Or anyone. He was just so busy trying to throw dirt at Clinton that he needed to hide his own

@wolfgirl569 The whole bribing Zelenskyy to find dirt on Clinton thing was disgusting. But it was only the tip of the iceberg, it turns out

@wolfgirl569 For awhile it was about saving face . Now it's only about the possibility of staying out of prison. I have friends who think he will wind up only with an ankle bracelet.

@TheHorse .......He probably doesn't realize a lot of things. Like he has a body odor and that most courtrooms are cold and they aren't going to turn the heat up just for him.

Does he not realize that it's probably not only a tad chilly in his spot in the courtroom?

@celticeagle I wonder if his odor would be worse in a warmer courtroom.

I usually don't follow trials, I only did it for Depp and Heard because of the fun scenes that came out. I hope this one is going to be entertaining as well. Personally I don't find the charges to be disturbing, so I can't be bothered much. I barely care about the outcome because it may deeply affect the upcoming elections.

@TheHorse I think democracy and freedom there have become quite corrupted already but of course, things can always get worse. Then political campaigns always involve propaganda and manipulation, lies and empty promises... it'd be funny if it was true Donnie bribed people to be quiet about his private affairs in fear of losing the votes of hypocrites who probably cheat on their wives as much. As funny as people being influenced by pictures of him hugging people of color. I'm confident most folks vote Trump for totally different reasons. And folks have more serious reasons to not vote for Trump than the charges he's currently in court for. I'm also worried this "coverage" is covering more important issues, so it almost appears as mere gossip compared to the rest.

I care deeply about the outcome because I live in the US and our Democracy could be at stake.

@sabtraversa I view it coldly. I don't really care about who sleeps with who (unless it involves people very close to me), but I do care that our legal justice system works for people in all walks of life. And I care that Democracy is maintained in the US.

NO, I did not follow, I read the titles time by time, it seems he is complaining because the "room" is cold. Trump would have not really cared to hide his affairs from Melania. He cheated his first wife, he cheated his second with Melania, she must know she cheats his wives.

@TheHorse All women with a little brain know that you CANNOT change a man. She is not a stupid, she did not marry him because she loved him. She worked illegally in the United States, that was a great way to become an American citizen and to have their parents getting in and also become American.

But of course we all (even me) think we're special. Maybe she thought with love and a baby she could "change" him. Perhaps someone will interview her extensively and do a biography of her after Trump is gone. She must have SOME interesting information abut his descent from a con man into a mad man.

@DianneN I have some other funny sign photos, if I can find them. One is about "Don't let your dog fall off the cliff." It's from Oregon, I'm pretty sure.

I have not followed it. But yes, these reports keep doing rounds on social media and other digital platforms. So, I get to know of them in bits and pieces. I am sure that it would be a great entertainment for many.

I think he was more concerned about the election than he was about Melania and others. His family already knew he was a philanderer.

I wonder if Melania really loved him at a certain point. Poor Ms McDougal said, in an interview with Anderson Cooper, that she thought her relationship with Trump had been based on love.

When they finally get him, I want to know exactly what it's for. Once he is in prison, and America is safe, I may follow things more "casually."

Seems that he cared far more about winning than concealing his affairs from his family. I'm hoping for conviction(s) sooner than later, but those wheels of justice are slow and impeded as much as possible.

The wheels of justice are indeed slow. I hope it can be shown without a reasonable doubt that he did the payoffs and "catch and kill" for political, as well as (or rather than) personal reasons.
