Do You Think The Protests Are Helping?

United States

Watching the news and seeing so many colleges in turmoil, and students being arrested, do you see where it's helping. I hate to see students, and police officers clash. I understand, why they're doing it, but it seems all is falling on deaf ears. I certainly hope a cease fire can be reached sooner rather than later. It is heartbreaking to see.

I don't know what the students think it will help. We are not at war and can't really stop it. All they are doing is making others feel unsafe

I don't understand any of it. Like if the students are acting like this about a war on the other side of the world just imagine what they will do if Congress is successful in banning TikTok in the US.

I think it's ridiculous and ties up resources that could be used elsewhere. If you can't protest peacefully, don't do it at all!

I don't see that it achieves anything. I guess they want to feel that they are doing something... some people don't even know what they are doing!

The students are tying up resources that are needed elsewhere. Not a good situation, and nothing is getting accomplished.

@popciclecold Yes, it is. Yet I want to keep track of what's going on in our country, so I do check the news.

They help bring more awareness, that's something. More is needed to be done for something to change; if more people are aware, then more is likely to happen. At the very least they're expressing their opinion, rightfully and peacefully. Well, most are, allegedly. Plus, this clash raises issues concerning freedom of expression.

When such issues happen outside, the US comes hard on other countries that freedom and democracy have been trampled upon. But when these hit home, there is no other way to handle them.

College kids protested the war in Vietnam. Protests have been going on for years. As long as they are PEACEFUL protests, I don't have a problem with them. Have a good day.

@popciclecold But why students are on the roads protesting against their own government?? If your country is retaliating a attack;what's objectionable there??
