Jay Texted Me This Morning

Jay texted me this morning, we talked about twenty minutes. Then, he needed to study his Bible and take a shower. His Dad's funeral was today at 1:00P their time,, which is one hour behind us in Michigan.
He was so chipper, not the least bit upset or depressed. Yes, losing his father was hard, but Jay knows that he's in heaven with Jay's older brother, Jerry. He was hit by a car and killed, at 11 years old.
I'm not sure how long Jay will stay in Alabama. He will probably head towards home on Saturday, that's only my guess.
All in all, Jay's having a nice visit with his sisters, friends and many relatives. His cousin James did the funeral service, he was Dad's regular pastor.

That's rough when you lose a loved one. I am glad that Jay is handling the loss alright. I wish you both nothing but the best.

@kobesbuddy That's great! 97 is a very respectable age, and to pass smiling. That's very wonderful. He got to go peacefully and in his own way.

Jay is staying with our niece, Vivian. She gave him a key, so Jay can just come and go as he pleases. She works two jobs, which is a full load! She gets home from one job, then leaves for the other one. Why? It's her own choice, (crazy!) When she was married, Viv was juggling three jobs!

Yes, exactly right! Dad was in a nursing home, the same ole same ole, every day. He just sat in his wheel chair, in one room or the other.

I try not to call, because the time with his family is so limited. He should be able to visit with them, without any phone calls.
