First time lottery ticket buyer wins 50,000

There was a young girl on the news holding a 50k check from the Virginia lottery. It was her first time buying a ticket! Some people have all the luck don't they? after taxes 48 k but still I would take it what would you do with the money? I would buy a car and get my deck fixed, also pay off a couple of credit cards. Invest whatever was left.

I would definitely invest some. 50,000 doesn't go super far in today's world though

Yep, I live in Virginia and I heard the other day that a woman won 1 million dollars and used it for whatever, they didn't say and the next week she won another million dollars!!!!!!!! And she is putting it in her savings account. I couldn't save anything. I need to move to a better home, closer to family so I can help them. I need a car to take my mom to the doctor and get to other family members that need me . I would also be closer to things that I need as well. I would also get my sister and family a home considering they need to move.

@dfollin Really?? I rarely buy lottery tickets, if I do they tend to be the scratch offs. Maybe I should start!

The car and deck are at the top of my list. I would sell my current vehicle at my leisure..and maybe get a golf cart or something..

There are several DIY projects around the house that need to be done. The rest would go into our retirement savings. Have a good weekend.
