Do you think Donald Trump will go to jail for Contempt of Court?

The judge in Trump's current criminal trial has a difficult decision to make. Trump is not supposed to berate or threaten court staff, potential witnesses, or jurors. But he continues to do so. He has been fined a few thousand dollars for his Contempt of Court, but the law prohibits more extensive fines. The judge in the case has threatened Trump with jail time if he continues to engage in Contempt, but he is also aware that Trump is not above using jail time to "rally his troops." Do you think Trump will actually be jailed in the next few days? If he is, I win my bet with my friend Mike, and get a lifetime supply of Glenlivet. Or a six-pack of Guinness? I forget which. Bonus question: Did you see the photo of Karen McDougal in a bath tub reading Ronan Farrow's "Catch and Kill"? Pretty funny.

I decided not to think about this. I am using all my energy in keeping my fingers crossed hoping that he will not be the next president of the US.

I don't think he will be. He has lost the popular vote in two straight elections in which he was involved. I think most Americans see him as pretty pathetic at this point. But I could be wrong.

But jail for Contempt would be short term.

@TheHorse Better short term than no term.

He is pushing so much, he wants to be put in jail and if this is the law, the Judge has no choice.

@TheHorse In this case, if the judge is a smart man, Trump will not go to prison.

I think the punishment is at the judge's discretion.

@LadyDuck You mean jail, right? For two hours or over one night?

@wolfgirl569 I wish @Porwest were still around. I would like him to link me a "speech" in which Trump actually discusses policy. All I see in his brief press conferences, and his campaign speeches, is whining.

Do;n' you think he'd stoop to using jail time as a "political tool"?

He said yesterday that he would proudly go to jail to protect the Constitution. So he’s already using it as a battle cry to rally the troops.

@TheHorse Do you really think he's going to spend any time in prison? I think he's just dragging things out long enough for the Supreme Court to rule that he has Presidential Immunity in every matter.

@moffittjc I don't think they would make that ruling. If they did, I would consider being part of a Revolution. I am old and have already lived a good life. I believe in Democracy.

He didn't say, "I dread prison, but I'd gladly go to jail for a few hours so I can grift off of it and take advantage of poor and uneducated white people. Getting elected president is also my last chance to avoid some of the prison time that awaits me"?

I'd like to see him in jail for a very long time for any of the many laws he has broken. Did not see that bonus bathtub reading.

Why is this man still permitted out of jail. If any one of us had done pulled even one of his moves we would be in jail and they would have thrown away the key.

I call it the three-tiered justice system. Rich (and formerly rich) people walk, as do poor repeat offenders, while us middle-class folks would behind bars for a long time.

I think he should be jailed. Yes, it's scary if the followers will get mad, but I think he will stop if he is jailed.

Even many "hard core" Republicans have said they would not vote for him if he is convicted of any of his crimes.

She's the gal he had a 10-month affair with. She was a Playboy Bunny. His fixers paid National Enquirer not to do a story about the affair. I think that affair literally overlapped with his one-day affair with stormy Daniels. Melania was either pregnant or nursing an infant at the time. Or both.
