Hypothetical question. If you're starting working from Monday, someone should give you a call...

at least 4 days before the first day on that job, right?
The employer said it takes a week to process your documents and that you're hired. Just, someone needs to give you a call to let you know which shift you're going to work.
Since the interview was on last Friday, today is Wednesday, it is about time for that call, right? Are they still making the work schedule for next week?
Your help would be appreciated.
Update: They called first, on Thursday

If it takes a week, they should be done processing by this Friday. Hopefully earlier than that so you can work on Monday with enough time in advance. Thursday morning might still count as 4 days before though, especially if your shift takes place in the afternoon.

this is hypothetical. this is a surprise, but not in a good way. there are some employers that say you start working the next day, or in a day or two and paper work is handled later and this feels suspicious but, there might be hope, as you said it

@grenery8 Yes, I'm talking in very hypothetical present and future tenses.
It must be annoying, maybe the person you're hypothetically going to replace has given their notice with some time in advance too so they aren't rushing. Or it could be something else. Hopefully it's a serious company regardless.

They should, and at this point I would call them..or maybe wait until tomorrow and call.
