It's Friday and Looks Like a Beautiful Weekend

Happy Friday Everyone! it's a wee bit chilly here this morning but the sun is shining and it looks like a nice day ahead. The forecast says it will warm up again for the weekend (yay). I do love the crisp, cool days of Fall but since these warm days have no heat and humidity it's really been extra nice.
When I was at the doctors office yesterday, I noticed they had set up a little library in the corner of the waiting room. I didn't have time to see what books they had but I'll have to remember to bring a few books to add when I have my next appointment. I thought this was a great idea to bring a book or borrow a book especially since so many people pass through there daily.
I've slowly been going through my books and made myself part with some I knew I would never read again so they went into the latest donation box. Maybe I can force myself to part with more? I don't know why it's so hard for me when they are just taking up shelf space and I get new ones here and there.
My older daughter and son in law came home yesterday from their cruise to Canada. They had a great time and I can't wait to see her and hear all about it.
I don't always talk to her every day but it just seemed weird knowing she wasn't just on the other side of the cornfield.
Nothing much happening here today. Thinking about what I need for groceries and decide if we'll do a pick-up or delivery over the weekend.
Right now, I'm going to pour myself a cup of coffee and see what's happening here.
Hope everyone is having a good day and something fun planned for the weekend.

I find it as hard to get rid of books as clothing. Books are special

Yes, books are special and hard to part with.
I look at the clothes hanging in my closet and my mind says "you might wear that one day" when in reality I probably never will

It must have been very hard for you to part with your books and other things when you moved. I dread the day I ever have to move.

@Marilynda1225 - I was so sick to go through things we did not need and to bring to the charities that I was almost ready to donate everything to avoid to pack. I am fine with what we moved, we have everything we need, included books and DVDs.

@LadyDuck I can understand how hard it was for you to have to part with so many things in addition to the moving itself.

Books are like buddies, and it is hard to pass them off sometimes. I don’t have anything going on this weekend, unfortunately. I desperately want to forget being sick, but I can’t walk far without having to sit down (it’s just dehydration).
I know your daughter is going to have some great pictures and stories!

Is there a single post where you have not mentioned coffee? How many mugs do you have in a day?

I am the coffee queen and wouldn't be able to start a post without talking about coffee
typicall only two per day. One when I get up in the morning and the second when I sit here to chat. Rarely do I have one in the afternoon but if I do it's a decaf.

I love those free libraries. I've donated some and found some good ones

@JudyEv I am a bond fide book lover and can easily get lost looking for books. Second hand shops do have some good bargains and I've also found some good books at a cheap price on ebay. Lately, though I've been happy to check out the free libraries and not have to pay for a book I want to read.

@Marilynda1225 There are so many books in all our second-hand shops too. Shelves and shelves of them.

I have about 100 cookbooks but can't part with any just yet even though I can't cook or bake anymore.

I went thought my cookbooks awhile ago and only kept the ones I really really like including my grandmothers cookbook. Wow , having 100 cookbooks is a collection. Bet they have a lot of your favorite recipes from years gone by.

I donated most of my books a couple of years ago. Haven't missed them

I've slowly been downloading more books on my Kindle than buying actual physical books.
