@LindaOHio and I were talking about how I had been shown movies in college, and she hadn’t been shown movies in high school or college. In college, I believe it was my Psychology class, we were shown “The Miracle Worker” about Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan. At a different university we were shown “The Matrix” in class. My mom was a college professor, and in one of her classes, she showed “Psycho”. At OU, when my dad was getting his Masters, they showed “The Thomas Crown Affair”. It was like a once a semester kind of thing for me. How many of you were shown movies in college?

I'm not familiar with those films, but I've always loved psychology.

I took so many psychology classes in college: Psychology, Child Psychology, Adolescent Psychology, Geriatric Psychology, and Christian Counseling. I loved it! My professors really wanted me to be a psychologist or counselor.

@AmbiePam Sounds interesting. My professors also thought I would study psychology, but that didn't happen.

Several of my classes had movies in junior, high school and college. It was done on Fridays, so there would be no homework during my junior high and high school years, as lived in a farming community where children did farm chores specially on weekends. We would have to write a report on the movie and we could do it on Friday before the bus came to take me home. Also could do extra credit on the second movie, if I had time on the weekend. College would have us write papers about the movies and tell what we liked and didn't and how we would change the movie.

Hmm, I remember in some school assemblies in HS we were shown movies. Treasure of the Sierra Madre was one. I honestly don't remember any movies shown in college, other than slides or snippets particularly related to the topic..art history requires visual representation for one, and several other classes.

I know that we were never shown movies during my college years, and in high school there were some. I attended a private Catholic high school, and they were very strict, so there were not any 'fun' movies, they were factual only-really dry stuff, and there were not many.
