I have over 100. Then again, I am a chef for a living. The same way most of you read novels or magazines, I read cookbooks. Yes, I actually have them on my bedside table. Is that weird?...

Well seeing as how I used to be a photographer for the Smithsonian, and the webmaster for World Wildlife Fund, yeah, I'd say I can do some other things as well... :) Thanks for the welcome!

Its a recipe programme,if you take a look at www.bigoven.com. I think there is a free version and a paid for version....it's ideal for me because you can just type in an ingredient and it lists all appropriate recipes.

cookbooks - many of us collect them, get them as gifts and visit them at the library. Some of us actually cook from them. others love to let family members cook for them
That is great that he gets those for you. You truly get a guy through his stomach.lol Food is a big deal in my house, hubby and the kids love to eat. I try not to let it get to being like a cook to order kitchen!!

I have a couple. I wish I had more. I enjoy cooking from a cookbook because I like new recipes. I really like the Kraft Food and Family magazine that comes out a few times a year. I keep all of those and go through and make many things from the book. I also like the allrecipes.com website. It is wonderful for new recipes!

I have at least a dozen, although only 2 or 3 that I use regularly. My main 'cookbook' that I use is actually a big fat green folder that I have loose recipes in, either ones I've cut out or printed off from the internet, and there's some that my mother and grandmothers have written down and given to me in there, too. One of these days I'm going to organize it! I also have the better homes and gardens cookbook on cd but I haven't looked at it yet.

recipes on cd - great use of a technology that is slowly changing the way we do things and am not sure it is all that positive in the end
I took have only 1 couple that I use regularly, however the others do come in handy. Not a fold, however a few binders in categories for ease of location of a recipe or ideas. Have only a couple of my grandmothers however my Momma has given me a nice handful to keep. The CD seems like a good thing..easy to store and use!

I have probably about 20 cookbooks and 2 recipe boxes that are stuffed full. I also have several folders full of recipes that I've cut out of magazines or got off the internet. I always think I'll try them, but I haven't gotten around to half of them. Maybe some day.

You sound like me. I make binders with particular types of recipes, since I can and dehydrate and pet food and well you know the drill. The recipe boxes have my momma's and grandmomma's recipes and are a treasure..Thank God I did not lose those in my fire!!! Time can be a friend or an enemy so try those recipes once a month or so!!

For some odd reason, I collect cookbooks. I have probably over 40 books. I only use a few of them, but can't control buying new ones. Here is a quick easy recipe: Instant Pistachio Salad "This recipe is super simple and can be changed to suit your tastes. Just add additional fruit and/or nuts." INGREDIENTS 1. 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained 2. 1 (3 ounce) package instant pistachio pudding mix 3. 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed 4. 1/2 (10.5 ounce) package miniature marshmallows DIRECTIONS 5. In a large bowl, combine the pineapple and dry pistachio pudding mix. Fold in thawed whipped topping and marshmallows until well mixed. Refrigerate until chilled and serve.

I'd say about a dozen. I have some that I bought over the years, some that were given to me, some my Mom put together (in her own handwriting, too), and many family recipes that my cousin gathered and put on a DVD for family members as a Christmas gift last year. It came complete with a printed index for reference. We all thought that was such a good idea, and everyone loved receiving it.

I love cookbooks and collecting them. I have probably 50. I had more at one point but got rid of many of them. I also have about 2000 recipes stored on my computer and disks. It is a hobby, but I do try them and enjoy fixing a variety of foods.

Recently my husband cleaned out our spare room. In this room is a large bookshelf that holds books and various craft items and other things. He found so many cookbooks on this shelf. I had forgotten how many I have! When you think about it, how many do we actually need? How many recipes have we actually tried from these books. I had subscribed to cooking periodicals too. I vowed to try at least one recipe from each edition in order to justify the cost. In the end, I cancelled the subscription. The web is a wonderful place to find recipes. I still have my old Betty Crocker cookbook. It has lost its cover and some of the pages are worn from use. But, it is the one I use most often.

Fresh food cooked to order at Puerto Galera - Visiting the Philippines is always a delight for me. At restaurants, I've seen the cook/s prepare my selections from scratch. I've never been disappointed. Yum!
I used to be a cookbook fanatic. I would read them like novels from cover to cover. Since becoming a more accomplished cook, I've given all of them away except "The Joy of Cooking," and "Julia Child's Kitchen." Nowdays, I use the internet.
