I believe that my child is exhibiting signs of ADD. I have brought in up to the school and they don't seem too concerned about it. It is affecting schoolwork. Have you dealt with a child with ADD and what are the common behaviors that you notice?

I think Elusive butterfly listed most all the symptoms and explained them very well. I have ADD, but it is sometimes different with girls than boys. They usually aren't as hyperactive. I did very well in school but I had to learn on my own. I couldn't pay attention in class. I had a tendency to repeat things too a lot and still do if not on any meds (certain words or phrases). When I was young we never heard of ADD. Looking back I've seen a few children that must have had it really bad. I don't take meds cause they seem to interfere with my antidepressants. If I didn't suffer from depression I might take them. There are some ways now that help that doesn't involve meds. They say karate helps. Meditation helps me. I have been reading lately about certain eye exercises that help too. I am really interest in learning more about those.
