Have you ever seen a musical?

Forbidden City: Portrait of an Empress - A historical retelling of the story of China's Empress Dowager, the story is seen from the eyes of an American painter, Kate Carl, who is commissioned to paint the Empress' portrait.
The Empress recounts her amazing journey from a young imperial concubine to become the Empress of China and the pressures she faced. The musical explores the myths surrounding her reign, from the controversial death of her only son to her ambitious tussle for power.
Having played to 60,000 people in 2003, Forbidden City is Singapore's most successful musical to date.

Post your personal experiences with musicals here. For those who haven't watched one, would you consider going for one if you ever get the chance to do so?The first musical I watched was Chicago, when I was about 8. I was so young then and the details are all foggy. All I remember is the tune to "Mr Cellophane". I hope I'll get the chance to see it again so I can appreciate it a lot better. The second one that I watched was Chang and Eng. It was based on the famous Siamese twins namely of course: Chang and Eng. Again, I was a bit too young to recall the storyline in detail.. I also watched Oliver! which is based on Oliver Twist a few years back. Splendid show with heart wrenching melodies and a great plot. Last but not least, I watched Forbidden City: Portrait of An Empress, a local musical that tells the other side of the Empress Dowager Cixi's story. The music [a fusion of East and West] is stunning and the story is a gripping one. It should be going on tour soon, so if any of you hear of it, please give it a shot and enjoy a deeper insight into our Chinese culture~

You mean on stage? I saw The Secret Garden on stage when it came to the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans years ago. It was one of the best experiences of my life. I loved the music, especially Winter's on the Wing and Race You to the Top of the Morning. I bought the cd of the original Broadway cast afterwards so I could hear the music again.

No, the other titles were songs in The Secret Garden, not different shows.

I haven't actually gone to a REAL theater to see a musical. The only musicals I've seen were movies and high school musicals. I've also BEEN in a few high school musicals! Most of them were fun, but others were kinda lame and I wasn't too fond of being in them. Oh well...

I've only been to one musical and that was only because I recieved free tickets through my online school. We saw "Guys and Dolls" and I actually really enjoyed it. I never really pictured myself enjoying a musical, but I really enjoyed this one! :)
