"Paid" to click?

Advertising seems to be the backbone of Internet and many companies have made big business with it. New ideas are emerging, with companies trying to get the Internet back, own it, or get a share of it! It is a bit too early to tell how the new Agloco is doing, as they are still in Beta form and have not even distributed their Viewbar, which will monitor the time people spend surfing on the Internet. Take the Internet back only started a few weeks ago too and people are only now starting to get the ad emails which will bring the money. Paid to click ads have been around for a while though and there are more sites being created all the time. Their names are tricky too, as they always include magic words like gains, wealth, dollar, pay, money, lightening, fast and free. The truth is that there is little money, gain or wealth and things are not free or fast either. On the contrary! Once you join they immediately flood you with emails. One is supposed to click and then view the ad for a minimum of 10, 15, 20 or even 40 seconds. But it is not really 10 seconds that it takes, as one first has to wait for the document to open. Then they are scared of people cheating so they have about 5 numbers and one has to click on the right one, to proof one is human and not a machine! Those numbers are sometimes hard to read, so often there is a bit of guesswork involved, as one must click on something just because two digits were the same! All this guesswork, of course, takes a bit of time. Once the ad comes up one sees how much it pays. The fees vary and they can be as low as 0.25, (not 0.25 dollars, but 0.25 cents, which means a quarter of a cent)! That means one has to click on four such ads to collect just 1 cent! The most generous sites pay .023 or .028, which might sound like a lot, but that is just over two cents, but not quite three! In that case you would reach 10 cents after viewing 4 or 5 such ads!” Once the stipulated time has gone by, one clicks and the amount is credited to your account. Having a look at your account brings surprises, as numbers that you imagined golden before suddenly turn into peanuts! Your eyes play funny tricks on you too, as they can wander far in just those 10 or 15 seconds. They suddenly see things and automatically respond by clicking your mouse and the whole process is prolonged, so what was supposed to last just 10 seconds is no more! Games and competitions also offer distractions and fingers just can’t resist clicking on those either! All this of course is without mentioning that many times your country was not included, so all your seconds are lost! After a few days of doing this you realise that you must look for something else, as pay to click ads is not an el Dorado!
