Is anyone else having a hard time with geting sales on Ebay? It used to be that almost everything I listed sold, and at a decent price. Now, I barely cover my listing fees. I tried Yahoo, and that was even worse! How satisfied are you with Ebay? Do you know of another auction site where you do better?

Everything I put up usually sells however lately I tried to put up a couple of records and they never sell no matter what records I put up. I'ts the holiday season alot of people are selling things trying to turn a quick buck. Try to sell bigger ticketed items if you can they almost always sell.

I have been putting up stuff like toys and action figures thinking people would buy them for christmas. But my stuff isn't selling well either except for an occasional yugioh card. Maybe it will pick up after the holidays.

Recently I noticed resellers are lowering their product prices. This might be a sign of unadequate sale.

I have never sold anything on Ebay, I am just a buyer. I don't shop E-Bay all that much, but I did work on alot of my Christmas shopping at that site this year. I did notice things seemed to be alittle higher-not as many deals as I remember. I had participated in other thread regarding E-Bay here on Mylot, and that writer had stated that the rates and fees for sellers has gone, that it is very hard for them to make a decent profit there anymore. You may try going to Amazon. I have never sold anything online so I am not one to directly recommend...but as a buyer I really like Amazon too.

Well I have noticed because there is such a input of Chinese good now they offer the items at very very low prices so American sellers now do not have a chance on Ebay.

I've sold 6 items in the last few days and have another 3 items selling (all with multiple bids) right now. I'm very satisfied with eBay. Have you listed any items lately (past 30 days)? I would be glad to take a look at your listing and see if I can think of any reasons why you are having trouble getting bidders.

I have purchased a lot through ebay in the past. The problem is now more and more people use it. There are more dealers too. People watch multipal listings and set up alerts to tell them about five mins before they close so will only bid right at the end.

From what I have seen on yahoo auctions clothes and coin collectables are the big winners in the yahoo auction sector. As far as Ebay I have sold some items such as collectables that did really well. I sold a Optimus Prime for 250 dollars. The best part is that I only bought it for 25 dollars at walmart. Ebay does well with collectables so you may want to look at antiques if your into that kind of thing. My only advice with ebay is try not to do drop shipping unless your adding it as a bonus. Anyway I can go on and on about what does sell and what doesnt sell. 1 more tip try selling consumables. This way you can aquire people who chances are will come back and buy from you again.

Yes, I gave up after they started adding fees to this and that. By the time I payed my fees I was basially giving away what I sold. I started my lost hoping to use this cash for my fees but I've not made enough lately. A few months ago I payed off $14.00 and gained no profit. I think everyone is having to raise their listing fees and noone wants to buy stuff that high. I think e-bay is trying to drive people into having their own stores is what it is.

This was the seventh Christmas season I've sold on eBay and it was by far the worst ever...It was brutal. Christmas collectibles I got $100.00 for last year were bringing in $35.00 this year. My rate of sale hass dropped from 88% to something like 72% and that's at lower prices. Also, I pay higher eBay feess because I had to use so many Buy ItNow and fixed price auctions. In years gone by, I could just put everything up at $9.99 and have fun with it...This year was not so much fun....BUT I'm reminded of some advise an old line antiques dealer gave me when I started out. She said "No matter how bad eBay gets, it's still the best thing going"...I think she was probably right. Besides, it's a buyer's market everywhere right now, not just on eBay.

I have noticed the same thing. I'm not a regular seller but I did post a few things earlier this month. Most were LSU Memorabilia. Figured it would be popular since they are headed to the SUGAR BOWL! I have probably racked up more fees than profits.

Hi, ebay has been my main online source for income the past year or so and so far I have both things that sell and things that don't. I try to look to see what other peoples starting prices are and that seems to help. Just start your listing at a little bit of a lower price. If you list something I will look at it and see why you don't have bids if it is something noticeable. What's your user ID? Will help if I can.
