You know, I got a 300 gig hard drive from Seagate about a couple months ago. I have never had a problem with it. They are an excellent company and I would definitely recommend this company to anybody. This is the only company that I know of that offers a 5 year warranty on their hard drives.

Seagate are a well established company with a vast experience in the manufacture of hard drives.
I own 2 320 Gigabyte USB2 drives that were made by seagate and I find them very useful indeed, although I am not aware of any 5 year guarantee. Either the guarantee only applies to internal drives or I threw away the guarantee without reading it properly.

I usually order my drives from newegg.com and they always state that the drives have a 5 year warranty on them.

I also prefer Seagate hard drives because of its 5 year warranty. My hard drives are 3.5" 40GB PATA, 3.5" 80GB PATA, 3.5" 250GB SATA, 3.5" 320GB SATA, 2.5" 120GB SATA. Recently, one of my hard drives fail, I brought it to the distributor of Seagate here in our country and they replaced it with a brand new hard drive.
