School bags..Over weight..?

I wonder, why the school boys are carrying the lots of text books and notes in their bags, (perhapes 1/3 rd of their own weight) to schools. Whom to be blamed? any solution..?

I agree. My 13-year-old daughter has scoliosis, and I wonder if years of carrying heavy bookbags to school contributed to that.
