i am a smoker. i find the laws on public smoking a little bit to drastic. it looks like smokers are criminals. if a person doesn't like the smoke why do i have to leave and not he/her?

I understand your feelings on this issue and share them to a degree. However the campaign against smoking is gaining momentum and very unlikely to slow down. It has become fashionable to be seen as an anti smoking campaigner, so everyone in the public eye wishes to be associated with it to improve their image. I would defend my right to smoke if Iwish to, but I must agree with some of the anti smoking issues and would not wish to impose the habit on someone else. It simply annoys me when they try to dictate my lifestyle, especially since I do not tell them how to live their lives.

because the second hand smoke that you release because of smoking affects other people's health. and since a public place is public... a smoker... i mean, a responsible smoker should atleast know where and when to smoke. the smoker should atleast respect other's health. there are lots of smoking areas intended for those who smokes. just be a responsible smoker. and we don't look at people like as criminals. just be more responsible.
