I think the more tags you have the more responses you'll get. What do you think?

A tag is how easy it is to find your post. If someone is reading something about cats and you have "cats" as a keyword then your discussion will feature in the "more discussions like this one" section underneath the current thread. So maybe yours will attract attention. If you put stupid tags like "good" and "cool" and things that are NOT relevant to what you´re discussing that would be a waste of time! If your discussion is about cats with alopecia, put "cat" "hair" "hair loss" "fur" "fur loss" and "alopecia". Easy isn´t it? God... that was a bizarre example. Sorry! LOL

the more tags you have, the more chances your question has to be found by a search ... the more often your question is found, the more chances you have for responses .... i think you are right

I agree with Monster...if you make it easier for people to search for something, the more responses a topic will get.

I figured that out a long time ago. some times if i don't want to answer a question i would just tag other people's discussions that dont have much tags. You cant enter mor than 10 tags at a time though.

How do manage to find where you want to go to respond to that person? It must take you forever.

I don't know. I tag everything and it doesn't seem to make much difference.

Ofcourse relevant tags will attract more post as the chances of showing your post is more during search.

I haven't seen a difference in my responses with tags versus without tags. I think it mostly just depends on your topic.

I think a lot depends on the topic as well as the heading of the topic. Sure depending on the tags yours might come up more often but again whether or not it gets a response depends on whether it is immediately 'attractive' to other members. Sometimes I put down a couple of tags and other times I might put up to 5, depending on what I am responding to. Good luck with your posts anyway. :)
