Just wondering how this works

I have a question about the mylot payments posts amount. Ok, obviously, when they pay us, our number of posts doesn't go down cuz i've seen people with over 3000 posts. But for the next payment, they only pay the posts that were posted after the first payment right? Just wondering how they work this out. Any info will be appreciated. thx
