Do you think modern literature is good for your growing children?

Tom Sawyer, Pinnocchio, Alice, Oliver Twist, Dorothy... All these classics are forgotten from todays world... Characters like Harry Potter has taken their places today. Do you think that its ok to give modern literature book to your growing children or would you prefer a classic book.

I always prefer classics. I still do. I read old classics and feel the same thril today aswel. classics has their unique way to shape peoples thought in a creative way.

well i would like my kid to read them all. reading is a very good habit. and i dont mind handing out a harry potter to my daughter. i am as crazy about the potter books as a small kid is.. ;)

I'd still prefer the classics. I think that maybe today's literature don't portray innocence like the classics used to.
