why does my belly button smell like cheese???

Hi my mum used to sing a song to me when i was little it went like this.
melly melly has a smelly belly button.
My belly buttun in all truth smell like toxic watse with a hint of cheese it,s quite wet in their too like the bottom of a brie container 3 days after opening left in bright sunlight.
Is this bacteria? because anything i use to try and rid my button of this humm fails. i wash it everyday but it still could turn elephant sealsto the use of perfume.
do you have any suggestions.

clean your belly button, Get q-tips and then dip in a water or hydrogen peroxide. Then you gently, clean it. Just be gentle.
If your belly button smells, it means that it has dirt or dirty, just try to clean, but dont overclean your belly button cause it might get sore.
If it still doesnt work, maybe you have a yeast infection, which you need to consult the doctor.

i total agree i clean mine with peroxide atleast 3 times a week. i also not if the button of your jeans lies right at your belly button it can cause a smell.

It sounds as if you might be growing yeast or fungus in your belly button. You should pay careful attention when you shower or bathe, and you can clean it with a gentle cleanser, or baby oil.

Mine also smells bad sometimes even if I cleaned it several times the smell won't get off me. I thank you guys for the suggestions above.

Talk to your doctor. Maybe your belly button is so deep that it stays wet after a shower. After you bathe and wash your belly button out, take a dry q-tip and make sure to dry it out. After you have done so, in a couple hours time check to see how wet it is again. You may have over active sweat glands, or maybe a more serious problem. I'd talk to my doctor if I were you. The only problem with my belly button is that the skin is dry. I hope you figure out what is wrong.

ok ok I just had to respond to this, how do you smell your belly button and have you thought about taking a shower with soap a body lotion works also but I have not really thought about my belly button

LOL this was actually posted by my husband some time ago. I actually have found a solution this now. Every morning and night I spray deodorant in my belly button if I don't do that then it smells. I found out it smelt from my husband who smelt it one day and told me how gross it was, lol!
