What classifies beauty?

The definition of beauty has changed over the years. In some cultures women who have thick uni-brows are the most attractive unlike the US. So a lot of it has to do with where you live and what you are taught to think is beautiful. Another part of it is simply primal and thats why men who are nicely cut seem appealing. But being that Americans are pretty much mutts, we were raised around a diverse mix of people so what each of us are attracted to may be different from person to person. And yes I agree that beauty is inside and out. But people want to be attracted to you before they even get to know the inner you... sad but true.

i don't think we can define beauty absolutely. it is relative, according to the beholder's eyes, haven't you heard? that is, something which is beautiful for you may not be beautiful for me, and vice versa, be it about a girl's beauty or a flower's. beauty is not really a concept, it is how you experience it. it is how you feel it, how you sense it. it does not exist just in the physical attributes, but also in the fact how you assimilate and relate to it. so, you normally shouldn't find each and every girl you see, beautiful or very beautiful - unless you are in the land of beauties, wherever it is! lol of course, if you ask me, there are the physical and mental attributes, but then, most of the people seem to give credit to the physical ones alone, right. objectively speaking, yes, the mind should be beautiful too, with kindness, generosity, ethics, .... or, are they outdated? - just a thought.

In my view beauty is really beauty.When I see something, suddenly when my mind says it is beautiful.I dont know beyond that.I love beauty.I dont dont know why.

well ... Well, I do believe in inner and outside beauty, but it's hard for me to describe my definition of beauty according to my opinion. I consider a woman that in deep thinking is sexy, and I notice that a woman who is pregnant looks 10 times beutifull than usual, anyone agree with me?

Beauty is the goodness of the heart.

Beauty is basically the person's criteria in choosing their type and their preference. But for me beauty is variable, it depends upon th person who look at it or appreciates it. Beauty simply varies. It is just a mental though as you said.

While external beauty is a gift and no one can deny it's importance, to me beauty is the combination of that element and how the person let's it groom him beautifully from inside and how he chooses to embrace his surroundings with love. I think our search for money, happiness and bliss all lead us to beauty. it's the ultimate experience. Thanks

I think beauty is a relative concept. i think all kids are beautiful. God made us beautiful creatures. to be beautiful, you have to feel it, one has to learn meditation, yoga, chanting prayers it will help develop one's aura and your personality will radiate and your skin will glow. i think outer beauty , physical beauty is transient which is not permanent and will not last. but sadly most people are tempted and lust for it. while the real beauty is the inner beauty, our inner conscience, our pure soul which is permanent and lasts forever.

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.....if you like something, it appears to be beautiful, however bad looking it may be.Whatever is very beautiful to one person may not be so beautiful to another. Generally speaking, both inner and outer beauty is required to generate that captivating charisma.

Inner beauty for me is top priority. Sure I can see a beautiful girl walk down the street but it's only skin deep; what about the inner part? I've met gorgeous women who were self-centered and so into themselves because of their looks that nothing else mattered but haing you gawk. Nothern Lights, Sun dogs, an awesome storm, the birth of kittens these are beautiful things to me. Outer beauty can be nice to look at but how long does that feeling last afterwards. Give me inner beauty anytime.

No matter how physically attractive you are, if you are rotten in your values, morals, personal judgements, etc., you can be a very unappealing person. I certainly hope that for what I lack in physical beauty, I can make up for with my mind and hospitality. Putting your best foot forward is important, but like we are all taught, "it's what's inside that counts."

Beauty in the real sense is how a person carries herself both intellectually, and physically. Instant beauty is when she has a proportionate body figure and smooth skin but inner beauty for me counts like the beauty in her character, physical beauty fades but intellectual stays forever.

Even I classify the same way as you do. Mental and physical. Physical can be further more divided into many kinds...
