I always heard of kids taking off their diaper and smearing poo everywhere...but I never thought it would happen to me. Well one day my son (11 months old) was taking a nap and i heard him stirring...I thought oh he will be okay. Then pretty soon his stirring turned into a weird cry. So I went upstairs to get him and as soon as I opened the door the poo oder knocked me off of my feet. He had pulled his diaper off and smeared poop all over his crib, the walls and the most disgusting thing it was all over him from head to toe. It was even in his mouth. I did my best to not throw up and I picked him up by 2 fingers and carried him to the bath tub. It was an awful mess and a memory I will never forget. I pray that I am not the only parent that has ever expierenced this. Anyone else?? Please?

You are not the only one. My youngest (18 months) has been doing that since he was about a year old. If we don't get to the poopy diaper the minute he does it, there'll be a mess to clean up lol. He's not as bad as he used to be, thank goodness. Your son will grow out of it :).

LMFAO omg my daughter did that when she was 6 or 7 months old...totally my stupidity cause I'd left her naked on her mat (she had a diaper rash) while I ran downstairs and when I came back up she had pooped all over the place and was eating it!! I've NEVER been so grossed out in all my life and it takes alot to gross me out LOL and there was her older brother sitting there giggling his head off (he was 2 at the time)....LOL Omg what a mess!!!

My son has taken his off and dropped it, making a mess of what fell out, and he's somehow managed to keep it on and get it all over himself, but thank goodness never in his mouth our all over the walls. Congrats on not throwing up!

To have cares with children is something basic, therefore the curiosity is inside of all the human being. Its alone son never leaves, therefore it always will need you to help it.

None of mine have eaten it but a couple decided it was a good painting medium. All over the wall cot bedding etc. So yep I know how you feel. I now put the nappy on backwards and clothing where they cant get to the nappy really easily.

Youngest daughter painted on the wall and her crib with it once. I too almost vommited carrying her to the bathtub and cleaning up them mess. It is just something that children do. The find new things and the have to experiment with them. It is very disgusting but I have to say it has happened to alot of us.

Yes! When my daughter was two she decided to have a little taste of poo. I put her in the bathtub and left to check something, when I came back there was poo floating everywhere. She then proceded to tell me that she had tried it and described the taste as bitter. I too, did my best not to throw up but you can imagine what the mess was like after all the water had gone down the drain!

My first child, my son, is only seven months old. He hasnt eaten his own poo yet... and hears to hoping that he never discovers that delicacy lol. I have enough trouble coping with changing his nappy wet or dirty, so I would more than likely have achuck and call my fiancee to take care of it. I know that sounds sexist but its not. I admit it, I'm a male, but...yuk!

Both my son's have taken their diaper off and made a stinky mess. But I don't think they ate anything. But, it is all I can do to clean it up with out making a mess (throwing up) too.

Oh, the joy of babies. I think that many parents have had your experience I know that I have. We must just grin and bare it.I know at least one of my four took off their diaper and put their art work on the wall as well as the crib and bedding. When they are that age that pretty squeeshy stuff is fun to play with. It also fun to horrify mummhy.

I think this kind of thing happens more then you really know. So, I don't think you are the only parent that has had the privledge of walking in on their baby eating their own poo. Sounds nasty, but babies don't know that eating poo is nasty, until the first taste. LOL! And we all know as parents that sometimes when our kids wake up from naps, they like to be sneeky and explore things. So it's bound to happen. LOL!

Hmm, looking back I was a disgusting child. I have picked up dog poo, and thrown it at my friends. Yes, I have... I was 13 then... I'm 14 now, maybe I should grow up.
