My daughter gets diaper rash OFTEN. And, to tell you the truth, I have not a clue why! I keep her fresh, I bathe her daily, I powder her bottom at every change, and I dont use anything with dyes or scents. What could be causing all of these diaper rashes? Please help me!

The rash could be due to a food allergy. My daughter was sensitive to acids and I didn't realize it until she had a raging rash on her behind. She had drank more than a few servings of orange juice. When I gave her less juices the rash went away.

The same with my daughter, too much juice. Her system could not handle that much acid, so for a long time we gave her half juice and half water. This helped with less rashes. We also found that Aquaphor was a very good ointment to put on the tushy and she loved the feeling of it.

cetaphil - cetaphil is very gentle great for babies
Instead of using baby wipes to clean her butt, use wet washcloth/ towel and wipe several times before applying diaper cream. Here's what I do.. 1. I change my baby's diaper every 4-6 hours 2. I use wet towel in wiping his entire diaper area 3. Apply Cetaphil cleanser (use as liquid soap) 4. Then wipe again with wet towel 5. Put on Desitin or Drapolene cream.

To get rid of diaper rash, gently wash the bottom with plain water and then blow dry the bottom with a hair dryer set on LOW every single time the diaper is changed. This usually clears it in a day or two - even the really bad rash that bleeds. This ALWAYS worked for my 10 cousin kids Just make SURE that you don't get too close with the hair dryer! Keep it on LOW and constantly moving and just long enough to dry the skin, which should only take about 30 seconds.or u can put a tablespoon of white vinegar into about 2 cups of warm water. Dip a rag into the water, squeeze it out, and dab it onto the diaper area do this after each diaper change. The only warning is if the diaper rash is bleeding or there is sores DO NOT use it will burn the child.

For us the answer was NOT to use the baby powder, but rather Vaseline after every change! This blocks anything from touching the skin! This worked great and was actually a recommendation form a nurse I know! My little one has very sensitive skin even the desitine didn't work out and everything else just irrataed it more. Let me know how this works out for you if you try it. Remember evry change just coat the skin! ALso if it is a rash with little red bumps then it is a yeast infection on her skin and for that you need an ointment perscribed by your Dr.

Not sure what's causing it. It could be a yeast infection and need specific medicine for that to make it go away. I'd ask your Pediatrician about that. To clear up a bad diaper rash I use a product called Triple Paste. I have found it to be the best out there. I also use the hair dryer to dry to babies bottom after a bath and then I put on the Triple Paste by morning the diaper rash is often gone. Good Luck!

Could it be the soap you wash her with irritates her bottom perhaps? I don't know how you feel about using cloth but I have used cloth diapers on my last two children with wonderful success. They allow the bottom to have more air circulating and avoid the harsh chemicals that disposables contain. I have less rash problems than I did when we used disposables on our others. I would also use only a soft washcloth with out soap for washing and wiping the bum. Lots of diaper free time is good for healing too. Good luck!

It could be several things. You might try changing the wipes or diapers you use. My oldest couldn't wear Pampers, they gave him a rash, but when I switched to Luvs, no more rashes. She could be allergic to something in the diaper or wipe, or it could be a food allergy. For the rash, Desitin works great.

Our son does too, sometimes I think it's after eating certain foods, but will have to track that to know for sure.

You might try altering her diet. You also need a more effective barrier between her skin and the diaper. If you want to use something that is all natrual you might try mineral oil because it forms a barrier between the skin and the diaper.

Try Desitin. I've used it on all 3 of my kids when they were babies and it works great.

Don't always keep her in diapers. Leave her skin open for sometime also. Cover it with some soft cloth or cotton ones
