What the Bible says on Gays

Philippines
December 27, 2006 6:18pm CST
27And God made the man, He made him according to the icon of God, He made them male and female. 28And God eulogized them saying: “Grow and multiply and fill the earth and lord over it and rule over the fishes of the sea and the birds of the heaven and all of the cattle and all of the earth and all of the reptiles creeping on the earth.” (Genesis 1:27-28) 24Because of this a man shall leave the father of him and the mother of him and he will be joined to the woman of him, and the two will be into one flesh. 25And the two were naked, both Adam and the woman of him, and they were not ashamed. (Genesis 2:24-25) 22And thou shall not sleep with a male in bed as of a woman; for it is abomination. (Leviticus 18:22) 13And whoever sleeps with a male in bed as of a woman, both did abomination; let them die, they are guilty [Leviticus 20:13) 26On account of this God delivered them into passions of dishonor, for the females of them changed the physical use into the manner alongside nature, 27and likewise also the males having left the physical use of the female were burned in the lust of them into one another, males in males working indignity and receiving in themselves the recompense which was necessary of the planete of them (Romans 1:26-27). 9Or you know not that unrighteous men will not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not planetized; neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers nor soft men nor males having bed with males 10nor thieves nor covetous men, not drunkards, not revilers, not grabbers will inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10) 8And we know that the Law is good, if someone uses it lawfully, 9having known this, that the Law is not laid for righteous, but for lawless and for unsubjected men, for ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and for profane, for father-killers and for mother-killers, for manslayers 10for fornicators for males having bed with males for kidnappers for liars for persons committing perjury, and if a teaching opposes a certain different thing which is sound (1 Timotheos 1:8-10]. The "whoever" in Leviticus 20:13 refers to male. In Greek, in practically all words, we can determine the gender and the number which is not so in English. Note that God commanded them to die. In 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, they cannot inherit the kingdom of God, that means they will be thrown to hell.

Do you know what the Bible says about abortion? NOTHING. Abortion is NEVER mentioned in the Bible. The Bible also says a woman must leave her home for the time in which she is unclean (having her period). You are not to work on Sunday, touch a pig, which means to never touch a football (it isn't called pigskin for nothing), hate is also a sin, as is gluttony (calling all over weight people), some argue piercing your ears is a sin as it defiles the body as do tattoos. And we all know the body is the temple of the Lord. Lying is a sin and so is disobeying your husband and your parents. And the minute you judge me, you have fallen from grace as well, for only the Lord may judge.

allowing gay marriage will not cause the world to go to hell in a hand basket. If you ask me we're almost there now with all of the hatred that is spewed in the name of god and allah and all of the others. Those are the people that scare me. Allowing me to get married doesn't hurt anyone. but the evangelicals will never see that. I can only hope that there are enough other people that aren't so over the top in their hatred.

I am a Christian but I can't go along with everything that you have written here. We have to consider that what we consider as the Bible is a conpendium of many tablets and stories passed on down through the ages. Don't get me wrong..I have read the Bible twice en toto and read some chapters over and over again (Job, the Psalms and Proverbs especially). However, when it is used as a reference book to create anti-gay debates I have to draw the line. Just because its in the Bible doesn't necessarily make it so. Remember that the contents of the Bible have undergone translation after translation by many Biblical scholars and as you know many things can be lost or exagerated in translation. I think it's high time we left the gays alone and let them find happiness and love in a way that is best for them. They don't judge you for being a Christian so as it is written in the Bible.....Judgement is mine, saith the Lord.

Excellent point! A lot of people also seem to think the Bible was written by either God or Jesus, and was actually written by man. So even in the beginning, there could have been screw ups before all those translations and versions. I don't judge Christians just for being Christian, only those that try to "save" me.

I cited Bible verses. A Christian obeys God and follows the Holy Bible. I am translating the Word of God from Greek to English and I know that there are many mistakes. But all in all, the Bible still tells the truth, it can't be thwarted. I was converted by reading the existing versions of the Holy Bible, even if they are not the exact translations of the Hebrew and the Greek languages used by God to write the Old and New Testaments. I am not engaging in an anti-gay debate. I am quoting the pertinent verses of the Holy Bible. Good if you have read the Holy Bible many times. I suggest that you read again and study very well. May God bless you. SEN

I feel that we as christians should not cast the first stone. We will be judged by God on judgement day and really the opionions we have untill them do matter if we are judging and causing pain to other regardless who they are. I agree with what you have said it is the Lord's place to judge and not mine. I think that if we christians spoke of the positive aspects of the Bible verse using the Bible to spew judgement many more people would understand the word of God.

HAHAHAHAHA...HAHAHAHA! First of all: I will say it once, I've said it so many times that the bible has been reconstructed so many times. It's probably been reconstructed more times than Michael Jackson's nose. Second of all: I will also say this once, and so many times that you should form your own opinions based on your experiences. Third of all: You are obviously looking for money. This topic has been repeated countless amounts of times. Go find another topic instead of making another one.

Not at all. I have watched documentaries upon documentaries about how the Bible has been edited so many times. God and Jesus want us to be who they are. From all that I have read in the Bible, Jesus is a kind, gentle man that wants everyone to love each other. He didn't go around protesting homosexuals. God never put a sign outside the Pearly Gates saying, "Homosexuals go away." So until I see something like THAT edited into the Bible, I'm going to just sit back and relax. Jesus and God do not want us all to be close-minded. THEY are the ones that want us to be open-minded. My best friend Roger is gay. And he's an avid church-goer. He loves God. He loves Jesus. You don't not get into Heaven because of who you choose to love.

everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I also have mine....I believe the bible was written by people that used their own thoughts as to the meaning of God's words. This does not necessarily mean that the meanings written by them are accurate. Gays are born gay and since God creates everything and everyone, that means he created gay people too. If God created it ....then it can't be a bad thing! The only one anyone, including gay people, should have to answer to is God, so why don't we just leave it up to Him to do the judging and try to get along as God would want us to do?

God wills all men to be saved and to come into a full knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4). The truth is the Word of God and the Holy Bible is the Word of God. Obedience to God is what God wants. But everybody is free not to obey. I chose to obey. As regards the Holy Bible, I have started a topic entitled Holy Bible to show the background. If you care to know, just go to my Profile and open the topic Holy Bible.

It is because that some scholars, noted historians, theologians, and other scientists have reliable proofs that the bible is God's word. It's like putting the puzzles into pieces. If we relate world history to biblical history, then we can find proofs of what is true.

You have to read the whole bible to really understand the contradictions being put on. You were citing that in Gen 1:31 God is satisfied with his works. It is because it was the beginning of it all when he only created two human beings,Adam and Eve.By the time you read chapter 6:6 he was regretful for having made so many human beings that maybe cause him to be dissastified by his work and primarilly after adam and eve ate the fruit from the tree of knowledge.I think these contradictions have enough reasons to support it.God has all the power to do all things He wants because He created all of us.

i understand your point. but i don't hate gays. which is really a bit unfair the way i see it. according to studies, we women don't only have estrogens (which makes us feel feminine and helps out in our female body structure), but we also have have male hormones inside our body. that's why we have a certain amount of strength, too. however, it is lesser than the estrogens we have. just like in males, they also have estrogens in their body. some are lucky because they only have this very small amount of estrogen in them. however, for those who are unlucky, they do have massive amount of estrogens inside them that's why they feel so feminine. that's why i don't blame them if they feel that way. i do respect them for as long as they look like someone who's worth my respect.

I agree Mary. I am that way. I have had the chance many times to 'cross that line'. I have felt the spirit of homosexuality come against me. Women lusting over me, etc. The thought has crossed my mind before. Guess what though? I never ever crossed the line. Satan can put things in your mind, if you cross the line, they can get into your heart. That is where sin comes in!

The mind plays an important role on what action shall we do. So even if the estrogens and the male hormones do not balance, it is still the mind that controls. I just provided pertinent Bible verses and if we believe in the Holy Bible as the Word of God, then those are the words of God, not mine. As I have always been saying, we have the freedom to choose. God does not compel anybody to believe in Him. However, I am a Christian and as a Christian, it is my duty to preach the Word. And of course, we *all* know that if the Bible says so, it must be correct, right? Right? And how do we know this? Oh, yes, it's because we know the Bible is true. How do we know the Bible is true? Oh, yes, because it's the word of God. How do we know God exists? Oh, yeah, because it says so in the Bible. Ever heard of a circular argument? It's really just stating what you believe without giving any independent, rational evidence for it. I believe quoting passages from the Bible to prove your point falls into this category. ::fallacy buzzer:: Oops, you have selected an invalid option. Please try again.

What evidence are you looking for? You yourself is a tangible evidence that God exists. Tracing your roots will never end and yet you could prove nothing. The Holy Bible itself has defended itself and so it still is today since its completion about 2,000 years ago. If you care to know the background, pls go to my Profile and open the topic Holy Bible. What book do you know which has existed how long or how many years? God has been preserving His Word so no amount of attacks or even burning can eradicate His Word.

All are God's children through Adam but not all are God's children through Christ. Those who will be saved are God's children through Christ. There are two kinds of people in the world according to the Bible - children of God and children of Satan. If you are a child of God then you are not of Satan. But if you are not a child of God necessarily you are a child of Satan. God provided a way on how to become a child of God to be saved. That is in the New Testament. God loves all people, the righteous as well as the unrighteous. He is patiently waiting for the unrighteous to go to Him. He is calling.

There is this statement people often use to make themself feel better in there sins,"we are not to judge",let me make this clear, christains dont judge people they only tell the truth of Gods word.A gulty heart immediately becomes offended instead of repentant.God loves the sinner but hate the sin in him and if he refuses to repent of it then his choice has consequences he(the sinner) will bear..Eternal condemnation.

I am not at all accusing. I just quoted the pertinent Bible versions for information and action of those who want to follow God. God gives us the freedom of choice. My life is in the Bible. Man does not live on bread alone but by the Word which comes out of the mouth of God. God says Do not be afraid of those who can kill your body; be afraid of the One who can throw your body and soul into hell. Martha was so busy doing so many things and she complained to the Lord why Maria was just listening to Him and the Lord said Maria chose the better one. You may work and work all you can but if God does not bless you, you will not be able to accomplish your work.

The bible contridicts itself verse after verse after verse. So many sins are placed in the bible and everyday we break a sin. Looking at another person in a lustful way while married i.e "oh hes hot" and that person you are calling hot NOT be your husband. Sin after sin after sin, if you dont want to sin you have to pretty much live in a cardboard box. Homosexuals are apart of our culture whether you like it or not. There is nothing you can do about it, and we should learn to NOT judge those who are living in sin, but ask the lord to forgive them and one day help them. But its not in our right to judge or argue with them, throwing up verses in a bible will not help.

If you study the Holy Bible as a whole and understand it, you'll find that there is no contradiction. So many sins really and that was why God sent His only begotten Son to take away the sins and He promised the reward of everlasting life to those who obey Him. If you don't like to obey, God will not force you. I do not at all have any intention to change anybody and I am not judging. I quoted what the Bible says. Believe it or not, follow it or not, that's up to you and anybody else. I am not also judging at all. I am not arguing. Nobody knows whether or not the Bible could help anybody here. That is the work of God, not mine. My work is to let the Word of God known, that's all.

God gives us freedom to do what we want. For those who would like to be saved, God has given the procedure in the New Testament. God does not compel anybody to follow Him. Preaching is a manner by which God calls His people. If there be any here, he might be called through my posts. He will seek God and definitely he will find Him. Obey men or yourself or obey God. I chose to obey God and so I do His commands. It is His Word which I am saying, not my own. Take it or leave it.

God is always good and righteous. If He will take both the good and the bad to heaven, He would be unrighteous. Then God is holy, sinners are unholy. The holy and the unholy cannot be together. Simple as that, like oil and water cannot mix. So God provided a way for the sinners to be cleansed, to be holy, to be able to be with Him because God wants people to be with Him. God is just so He gives the reward of everlasting life to those who obey Him. God loves all of us; it's people who do not love Him. He said If you love me, keep my commandments.

Luke 6:37 "Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:" John 8:7 "...He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." Now that the bible quotes are out of the way, let's talk about love. If more "religious" people would spend more time loving their fellow man the world might be a better place. Stop worrying about someone else's "sins" (I use that term loosely) and see to your own.
