When I wake up from bed, I wake up with pains. It's horrible experience, I shout for help and request the family members to massage my legs and arms. My arms become numb without proper blood circulation. I smoke about 15 cigrattes per day. Can u suggest any remedy for this ailment. Kindly help me out.

Sometimes leg pains can be helped by taking calcium tablets. They have certainly helped me. I used to have leg cramps/what we call charlie horses all the time, and the calcium helps that. I don't drink milk, so the tablets work for me. Sometimes support hose can help to prevent pains in your legs. Don't know about the arms becoming numb. My hands used to get numb while I slept...it was carpal tunnel and I had surgery on my right hand which helped it.

Magnesium is also said to work for leg cramps. The numbness/tingling in the hands can also be contributed to water retention. I was waking up several times a night with tingling in my hands really bad. The doctor put me on a water pill and it went away. I am no longer on the water pill and if it happens it is very rare.

Thanks for the response. I tried calcium tablets but it only increased my acidity problem.

I think you should see a doctor. I have fibromyalgia and it started with pain in my legs and then spread throughout the body. It also keeps me awake at night and is affected by stress and the weather. You should definitely see a doctor and get a sleep study done.

I have consulted the doctor too. But they are only advising me to stop smoking. Other than that I'm not getting good medication.
