I'm a fan of Joy Division, but don't own any albums yet. :( I'm pretty sure "Love Will Tear Us Apart" was also the first song of theirs I heard. I was watching Grey's Anatomy last night and a song was playing in the background. I wasn't paying any attention to it, though. It was some girl singing and I found her voice to be slightly annoying. Anyway, just before the scene ended, I realized it was "Love Will Tear Us Apart." Hmm... I should find the episode online so I can watch it again and pay better attention. It obviously wasn't as good as the original, though.

wonder if that was the Nouvelle Vague (sp?) cover? There's another female cover, heard it in a shop a couple of years ago on a chillout/acoustic compilation. Was very sureal moment, and it was like nobody else noticed what it was or what they were singing - the power of those lyrics - this sudenly came on the song was slowed down almost like a lullaby - and there was a baby in a pushchair tht just started crying, like it knew...

Haven't heard Unknown Pleasures yet but got Closer free with The Times (uk) the other day - have played it two nights running and it's going right my top list of classic/important/favourite albums.

A friend of mine got me in to Joy Division a few months ago. I like them alot. I like their dark sound, and use of electronics.

I like Joy Division but my favourite bands are Pearl Jam,System of Down,Dire Straits,Carmen Consoli,Ligabue,Sud Sound System,Jeff Buckley,Janis Joplin,Guccini,Bob Marley,Punkreas,De Gregori,i can continue with singers that i love but i will finish to boring you ahah:)
