Iron Maiden or Metallica?

Well, considering MEtallica probably wouldn't be half as good as they are if it weren't for Iron Maiden, I gotta say Iron Maiden. THey are metal geniuses, they have three lead/rythhm guitarists who all pull off amazing solos without getting too cluttered in almsot every song they have. Plus, pure musicianship, Janick Gers, Dave MUrray and Adrian SMith are all some of the most amazing metal guitarists ever, their technique is absolutely impeccable and their showmanship is amazing as well. Also, Iron Maiden is a purer form of metal than Metallica. Metallica is great but they aren't stragiht metal, they have punk influences and more bluesy influences whereas Iron Maiden takes the classical route regarding to song writing and solos. Iron maiden are far better. James Hetfield's voice is quite monotonous to me, and maiden display a greater diversity when it comes to songwriting. Although it has to be said that Enter sandman is a very good song, metallicas material does not come close to song like fear of the dark by iron maiden.

Iron Maiden! Why? As far as mixing heavy and intricate guitar work, Kirk Hemmet can hold his own against Dave Murray and Adrian Smith any day...in fact, I would love to hear them jam together. However, neither Niether Nicko McBrain, Clive Burr (or any other Maiden drummer) is a whining little pissant like Lars Ulrich turned out to be (although Lars is a great drummer). But mostly because that no talent bass "player" Jason Newsted was never in Iron Maiden.

I'd opt for Metallica. I have more of their albums and in general terms they are a band i've been listening to for longer and they have a greater concentration of songs i listen to regularly and class as classics.

Iron Maiden (as you can see from my avatar and username). Actually, I don't like Metallica very much only their best songs like Enter Sandman and Master of Puppets are good in my opinion.

well they each kinda have a distinctive quality that i like about them. even thou i like iron maidens songs better sometimes i'm gunna have to go w/ metallica. it's more head banging

Metallica boasts of some good Instrumental work.But both are different breeds .Iron Maiden especially has great lyrics.

I like both, can't choose one... both bands have a lot of great songs.

I won't deny that I am much more of a bigger fan of Metallica. I've grown up listening to these guys and even though I'm a bit tired of them nowadays, I can still go and have a spin at a full lenght album by them, unlike with Iron, which I can only listen to some particular songs withouth getting bored quickly.

Well I must admit I'm a fan of both but Iron Maiden definately has the edge as I've been a fan of them for 20 years! (OMG I sound ancient) Bruce Dickenson by far has the more superior voice! Metallica does fall into the catagory of a bit samey samey at times but their S & M Album was excellent!

Metallica. Im listening to Master Of Puppets right now. But Iron Maiden is wayy good too.

i love Iron Maiden just cause they have the best guitar work i have ever seen compared to any band!!!

though i love iron maiden a lots i wud probably say that metallica is better just coz of their rock solid music nd compositions...:-)....i simply like nothing else matters ...the song is gr8

Yup, Metallica is the more I like, but Metallica influenced by Iron Maiden to. Anyway they have this world rockin and more meaningful

iron maiden anyday..metallica have sold their souls to the commercical devil ever since re-load..iron maiden have stayed true to their roots !!

see both metallica n ironmaiden r diff in their own ways....!!! metallica plays classical kind of stuff where ironmaiden takes it in to much second notes mean the guitarist...!!!

I like Iron Maiden more. nothing bat to say about Metallica because "choices are not negociable"
