I took horseback riding lessons about three years ago. I LOVED it. The only reason I stopped is because the stable where I was riding did not have great policies for caring for their horses. One night, at my lesson, I told the instructor that my horse was "slipping" all the time. She told me I was wrong and that it was my fault for not pushing the horse to perform. As I picked up the pace, at one point, I felt myself falling forwards! The horse fell and I went with him. I hit the ground very hard from pretty high up (this was a big horse) and as I turned my head, I saw the horse falling towards me. I was afraid he was going to land on me but I was hurt and couldn't move right away. I curled up in a fetal position and hoped for the best. He just missed me. I was SO worried that he was hurt too. Except for a sort of smudge on his nose, he was ok. It turned out that the stable was at fault... he had gotten new shoes that day and the job was not done right. The horse was lame. They told me it was like the horse was trying to walk with a tennis ball under its foot. Poor thing! I still love to ride and I really hope I can find a more reputable stable where I can take lessons again. I did get hurt and I was scared but riding is the most amazing feeling in the world. I'd never let a tumble stop me from trying again! :)

I haven't but I've always wanted to. Maybe I'll get the chance in the future.
