i want to know how you prepare to learn English ,i have search over 3 months. and i am going to tell you what i have concluded.if you have ideas so please share them with me.... set small, achievable targets,e.g; learn new words every day, mondays to fridays(repeat on saturdays,,relax on sundays) study 15 minutes every day read the lyrics of an english song every week and try to understand its meaning. read and try to understand one short english text every week. reaching your target step by step is much better than setting a huge target that you can not achieve easy does it. Motivation is half the work. "Boring!"well, that's defintly not the way it works. try to find a positive aspect to studing.why not watch your favorite film in english and write down some useful words or pharses that you want to remember.you could also read the lyrics of top 10 songs.and try to understand what they are about.or cheack out celebrity sites and learn more about famous actors, bands and other stars.this sure is good for your vocabulary and on top of that it is lot's of fun. "Donot over do it" studing 15 minutes per day is more effective than studing 2 hours once every week. for a whole week, try studing 15 minutes each day.not less and definitively not more than that you will see that the studing is much more fun, simply because you did not push it to the limit the day before.

Reading the lyrics of an English song and trying to understand the meaning is not something I'd suggest for trying to learn it. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't, but there are songs out there that just don't make sense, even if you're a native speaker of the language. You'd probably have the best luck with the songs if you stick to older songs, such as folk songs and carols and the like. Some bands write songs that aren't ment to make sense (anything by the AquaBats, for example). Just figured I'd give you a bit of a warning.

Well Sungat, you talk about building English. Let me just talk about how you first learn it the proper way.. DISCARD the books, yes I mean it..How do you think you learned your mothertongue? How an Englishman learns to speak English? Well, It's all intuitive., I would say.. You plan to learn a new language, you speak it.. No matter how many stabs it receives.. Keep speaking English.. Right or wrong and get corrected by your pals..Put your commonsense and gumption to the fullest use. Research says that most of the spoken English skills are learned unconsciously. Understand what I mean? Do it the otherway round.. People first use the language then master the specifics over a course of time. NO amount of vocabulary, targets, monday to friday schedules are going to help you greatly.. Someone has a great vocabulary in English to boot with, but stutters in speaking a fluent English. So what you require upfront is fluent simple English. You then mull over grammar, word power, sentence formation and so on.. I hope your job is half done already.. All The Best!

You've done a good job on studying English, I think. You are an orgnised person. In fact, I've learned English for years. But I feel I never manage it well. Maybe I haven't been hard enough......

Oh I have taught many people to speak English, I am not a teacher but I love to teach other people so that when they talk to other english speaking people they do not feel so uncomfortable. So I do it the same way that you have here and I was quite surprised that you do too.

hi there, first of all i appreciate your work and secondly i would like to say that this method you have been analysing for others. This is an organised approach and applausable. I hope you will get well into it. As said my a chap before Grammer is necessary. We can start with common objects around us and then move to Grammer and try to learn the tenses because once you have grip over tenses you can easily learn to make sentences. The thing left afterward is vocablary which you can improve by reading dictionary, newspapers and discussions with others. I learned it gradually but i started with tenses and over 7 years time I am comfortable with language now. But real english you can learn when you speak it with people who just speak English as i learnt that in England.

I think that the methods you have chosen are really exceptional.I would want to stress grammr here. The parts of speech,Cluses,Idioms n phrases etc should be made thorough so that we won't feel confused or scptic whenever we communicate or write in English. I second your thought on learning words everyday.Whenever you find a new word, scrap it in a book and try to make a sentence out of it, and refer it again on sundays and saturdays and make it thorough.
