if you drank and drove on new years what gave you the right to take every person you passed in your car life in your hand, why did you think that driving was even a option, just because last time you made it home, that doesn't make you a professional drunk driver, where do you get certifications for that??? The nerve, remeber the next time the news comes on it could be your family sees in the mangled car that killed the family of 4 on there way home from dinner!!!!! to the cab riders: 2 thumbs up!! thank you for allowing me to make it home safe, thank you for knowing when to say call me a cab, thank you for giving up the key, and tha you for being responsible!!!!!

Not only do I not drink and drive on new years eve, I don't drive at all on new years eve. I know a lot of people drink themselves stupid and then get into their cars and attempt to drive home. I just do not want to be in their way and become their victim.

I second that one. I do not drive on New Year's Eve either. Actually my husband and I went out the night before and we took a cab all the way!

Actually, my husband and I drank at home on new years. Less expensive and much safer.

Drinking and driving don't mix at any time. I don't care if it's a holiday or not. These idiots are not only putting themselves in danger, as well as any other driver, but pedestrians as well. I am not a drinker but I have no problem taking the car keys away from someone or even offering to pay for their cab or driving them home myself. Drinking and driving is a great way to destroy lives and end up in jail. It truly amazes me how selfish people are. Sure people want to drink and celebrate, but do it responsibly. Have a designated driver, call a cab, spend the night where you are partying, etc. Recently a drunk driver here got onto the interstate and killed a family returning home from a soccer playoff. The only survivor is a 15 year old girl. Her life is now shattered because of someone's stupidity. What kills me is that this person who caused this accident had prior driving under the influence convictions. I have even heard of people who have the breath analizer ignition starters placed in their cars who get their children to breath into the starter in order to get the vehicle started. When will these people learn is beyond me.
